    • A tamper-proof tie includes a head and an attached strap. The head is shaped to define an elongated interior channel having a strap entry end and a strap exit end. The head includes an articulating locking tang disposed to project into the interior channel. The strap includes a first end formed onto the head, a second end and an anti-tampering device integrally formed onto the second end, the anti-tampering device including a plug and a finger. In use, the strap is inserted into the interior channel so the tie forms a closed loop. As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking tang engages the anti-tampering device to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head. With the tie formed into a closed loop, the plug is sized and shaped to substantially enclose the entry end and the finger is sized and shaped to substantially enclose the exit end.

    • A tamper-proof tie includes a head and an attached strap. The head includes a strap accepting channel and a blind cavity. The strap accepting channel includes a strap entry end and a strap exit end. The blind cavity includes an open end. The head includes a flexible locking member comprising first and second ends which are fixed in place within the head. The strap includes an anti-tampering device which comprises a finger and a projection. In use, the strap is inserted into the strap accepting channel so the tie forms a closed loop. As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking member engages the anti-tampering device to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head. With the tie formed into a closed loop, the anti-tampering device substantially encloses the entry end and the exit end of the strap accepting channel and the open end of the blind cavity.

    • A one-piece cable tie for securing a cable to a mounting surface having a threaded stud attached thereto, the cable having an outer sheath of convoluted tubing. The cable tie comprises an elongated strap and a locking head on one end of the strap. The locking head is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop around the cable. The cable tie further includes a fastener coupled to the locking head for securing the cable to the threaded stud. The fastener includes a boss having a central bore to enable the boss to be mounted over the threaded stud. The fastener also includes a first set of flexible fingers formed on the boss which are disposed to project into the bore. Each finger comprises an arm pivotally connected to the boss and an engagement head formed on the arm for engaging the threaded stud. The fastener further includes a cover connected to the boss. The cover is constructed so that at least a portion thereof will breakaway from the boss in order to accommodate threaded studs of a length greater than the length of the boss. In one embodiment, a portion of the cover is broken away so as to form a second set of fingers which are formed on the boss and which engage the threaded stud. The first and second set of fingers engage the threaded stud at different points along its length, thereby increasing the amount of force required to extract the fastener from the stud and thereby better stabilizing the fastener on the stud. The cable tie also includes a rib formed on the locking head to engage a cable which is small in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable and a rib formed on the fastener to engage a cable which is large in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable.

    • A one-piece cable tie for securing a cable to mounting surface having an aperture therein. The cable tie comprises an elongated strap and a locking head integrally formed together. The locking head is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop around the cable. The cable tie further comprises a fastener coupled to the locking head in coaxial alignment with the longitudinal axis of the strap. The fastener includes a flange and a Christmas tree head adapted to be inserted in the aperture of the mounting surface. The Christmas tree head includes a pair of legs integrally formed on and projecting out from the underside of the flange which terminate in a common tip. The pair of legs are capable of being inwardly compressed upon insertion of the Christmas tree head into the aperture. The flange, the legs and the tip together define a longitudinal slot therebetween. Each of the pair of legs includes an integrally formed rib which protrudes into the elongated slot and which serves to limit the amount of inward compressibility of the legs. Each of the pair of legs further includes a plurality of flexible flutes which extend radially outward from along the length of each leg, the flutes engaging the mounting surface so as to frictionally and releasably secure the fastener to the mounting surface. In another embodiment of the present invention, the fastener is coupled to the strap perpendicular with the longitudinal axis of the strap.

As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking tang engages the window to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head, the strap limiting projection abuts against the stop to limit the minimum size of the closed loop and the door activation surface urges the door from its open position to its closed position. Together, the strap limiting projection, the anti-tampering projection and the door enclose the interior channel to protect the locking tang from tampering.

    • A rivet tie for coupling together two or more objects. In one embodiment, the tie includes a cable tie shank and a pawl nut which are integrally connected together by a break-away attachment member of reduced strength. The cable tie shank includes a tail having a first end, a second end, a top surface, a plurality of ratchet teeth formed on the top surface and an enlarged button end integrally formed onto the second end. The pawl nut can be separated from the cable tie shank and includes a top surface, a bottom surface, an elongated central opening and a flexible pawl disposed to project into the elongated central opening. In use, two or more objects are disposed on the tail of the cable tie shank. The pawl nut is then slidably mounted onto the tail so as to effectively sandwich the objects between the enlarged button end and the pawl nut, the pawl sequentially engaging the plurality of ratchet teeth on the strap to secure the coupling of the objects together. In another embodiment, the tie further includes a shroud formed onto the top surface of the pawl nut over the elongated central opening, the shroud serving to prevent tampering of the flexible pawl when the tail is inserted into and through the pawl nut.
