    • A coupling, especially a torque limiting coupling, has a coupling housing (2) and an inner coupling member (10) received therein. The inner coupling member (10) connects to a drive shaft. Torque transmitting elements (12), active in the form of locking members, are positioned between the inner coupling member (10) and the coupling housing (2). The coupling housing (2) has a connecting bore portion (6) which receives a connecting portion (19) of a connecting element (18). The outer contour (10) of the connecting portion (19) follows the inner contour (9) of the coupling housing (2) in the area of the connecting bore portion (6). The connecting portion (19) is accommodated with a radial clearance. Thus, radial displacements, circumferential displacements as well as angular displacements are possible between the coupling housing (2) and the connecting element (18).

    • A torque limiting coupling has a first coupling hub (2) with first driving members (10), and a second coupling hub (27) with second driving members (35). The hubs (2, 27) are jointly received in a coupling sleeve (46) and are rotatable independently of one another. When a set torque is exceeded while the first coupling hub (2) is driven in one of two driving directions of rotation N1 or N2, the second coupling hub (27) is subjected to a force which ensures that, in the driving direction of rotation N1, the driving members (10) of the first coupling hub (2) are transferred into the disconnected position and that, in the driving direction of rotation N2, the second driving members (35) of the second coupling hub (27) are transferred into the disconnected position.

The protective device also includes a first protective tube connected to the first protective cone (6). The first protective tube is associated with a second protective tube of the second universal joint in a rotationally fast way. The second tube is firmly connected to the second protective cone by an attaching cap. The attaching cap is secured to the second universal joint so that the entire protective device remains rotation free.

This results in the head screw (26) being sheared. As a result, the coupling sleeve (12) is disconnected from the coupling hub (3) in respect of drive.

    • A bearing ring (10) for supporting a protective device of a rotating driveshaft is adapted to engage an annular groove of a component of the driveshaft, for example a joint yoke. The bearing ring (10) has a basic ring portion (13) which connects to a component of the protective device. The bearing ring also includes a bearing ring portion (14) which engages the annular groove. The bearing ring (10) is a composite component. The basic ring portion is produced from a different type of plastics than the bearing portion. The bearing portion (14) is produced by being injection molded around the basic ring portion (13). The bearing portion (14) is a PEEK material. Thus, the bearing portion (14) achieves a long service life while the costs of the bearing remain acceptable.
