摘要： A coupling device for coupling two components in a torque-conducting manner is described. It comprises a first coupling component having a first external toothing and a second coupling component having a second external toothing. In addition, the coupling device has a sliding sleeve having an internal toothing which is permanently engaged with the first external toothing and can be selectively brought into engagement with the second external toothing. Furthermore, a locking unit is provided which can selectively assume a locking state in which the sliding sleeve is held in a form-fitting manner in a rotationally coupled state. In addition, the locking unit can selectively assume an unlocking state. A method of operating a coupling device is also presented.

摘要： Motor shaft adapters include a cylindrical shaft sleeve with a tubular body defined between inner and outer cylindrical surfaces, and frame adapters that include a section of structural tubing and flanges having sides aligned to the sides of the structural tubing section and fixed at respective ends of the section of structural tubing into assembly between a motor and gearhead. Key slot apertures are defined by opposing body end-walls of the tubular body and through the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of the sleeve. A shaft key has outer sidewalls that include opposing outer sleeve aperture sidewall portions that enable the shaft key sidewall portions to fit within and to thereby engage the sleeve via the key slot aperture. The key sidewalls further include a base pair of opposing key seat engagement portions that fit within and engage opposing sidewalls of a key seat aperture defined within a workpiece shaft.

摘要： A composite vehicle driveshaft is provided with a crash collapse system that allows for a controlled longitudinal collapse of the driveshaft by facilitating telescopic movement of various components with respect to each other during a crash event. The crash collapse system may include a collapsible joint with a sleeve that is concentrically bonded in an end of a composite tube and a stub end assembly that is spline-engaged and interference fit within the sleeve, such as by way of a press-fit and/or a thermal shrink-fit procedure. This relationship may rotationally lock and axially fix the stub end assembly to the sleeve unless, during a crash event, the composite vehicle driveshaft experiences a compression or push-type force that exceeds a minimum breakaway or collapse force value that longitudinally and telescopically collapses the composite vehicle driveshaft.

The inner shaft may be configured at least in part as a hollow shaft that has an interior that is open towards the end that is inserted into the outer shaft. To reduce the outlay in terms of production and assembly, the fastening portion may extend from the end into the interior of the inner shaft and is connected to an inner surface of the interior.

摘要： A gas turbine engine in which a long length-to-diameter (L/D) flexible shaft is used to connect two high speed shafts in order to tolerate misalignment. In order to reduce the overall system length, a smaller diameter flexible shaft is contained within but not in contact with a larger diameter primary turbomachinery shaft such that the smaller flexible shaft adjoins to the primary shaft aft of the primary shaft bearing. This design reduces a length of the overall system and reduces additional cost associated with a flex bellows or spline.
