    • A torque limiting coupling has a first coupling hub (2) with first driving members (10), and a second coupling hub (27) with second driving members (35). The hubs (2, 27) are jointly received in a coupling sleeve (46) and are rotatable independently of one another. When a set torque is exceeded while the first coupling hub (2) is driven in one of two driving directions of rotation N1 or N2, the second coupling hub (27) is subjected to a force which ensures that, in the driving direction of rotation N1, the driving members (10) of the first coupling hub (2) are transferred into the disconnected position and that, in the driving direction of rotation N2, the second driving members (35) of the second coupling hub (27) are transferred into the disconnected position.

    • An interaxle differential for connection between two driven axles (14) of a motor vehicle comprises a liquid friction coupling (1) and a planetary gear train (15) comprising three torque-transmitting members (16, 18, 20). The liquid friction coupling (1) comprises a liquid-filled housing, a coupling shaft, which coaxially protrudes into said housing at least one set of radially inwardly extending, axially spaced apart outer blades, which are mounted on the housing, and radially outwardly extending, axially spaced apart inner blades, which are fixed to the shaft in said housing and axially staggered from the outer blades. Each of said outer blades is adjustable in a radial plane to vary the radial overlap between the outer and inner blades. A first of said torque-transmitting members of the planetary gear train is directly connected to an input member of the differential gear. A second (20) of said torque-transmitting members is connected to said coupling shaft (3). Only a third (18) of said torque-transmitting members is connected in said differential to an output member (19) of the differential. The housing (2) of the liquid friction coupling (1) is held against rotation.

    • A device for measuring torque in a drive assembly includes a torque-loaded torsion element (9), such as a shaft, and a reference element (21) surrounding the torsion element (9). The reference element is correspondingly tubular in shape. A first tube end (22) of the reference element (21) is firmly connected to a first shaft end (10) of the torsion element (9). A second tube end (24) of the reference element (21) is supported on the second shaft end (11) of the torsion element (9). The two tube ends (22, 24) are each associated with a transmitter element (16, 34). The relative position of the transmitter elements (16, 34) in the direction of rotation around the rotational axis (8) is recorded by a sensor element (35). The sensor (35) is associated with a housing (1). The sensor (35) generates a signal each time the two transmitter elements (16, 34) pass and transmits signals to an evaluation unit (36). The evaluation unit (36) determines the torque applied from the offset of the signals.

    • A drive assembly for an agricultural implement (1) has a first implement portion (2) and a second implement portion (3) pivotable relative to the first implement portion (2) around a pivot axis (x). The first implement portion (2) has a first rotary driving device (4) and the second implement portion (3) has a second rotary driving device (5). The two rotary driving devices (4, 5) are rotationally connected to one another by a shaft assembly (6). The shaft assembly (6) includes a universal joint (7) which adjoins the pivot axis (x). The universal joint (7) includes a cross member with two pairs of arms centered on axes of rotation arranged perpendicularly relative to one another, and two joint yokes. A force-operated setting device (19) transfers the shaft assembly (6) into a rotational position where the axis of rotation of one of the two pairs of arms of the universal joint (7) adjoining the pivot axis (x) at least approaches a parallel line relative to the pivot axis (x). This design enables a pivot movement of the second implement portion (3) relative to the first implement portion (2). A pivot angle is present ranging between 100° and 110°. The implements pivot without the joint yokes of the universal joint (7) contacting one another and without the universal joint (7) being destroyed as a result of any jamming and distortion.

A sensor unit 35 is fixed and arranged at a distance from the axis of rotation (8). The sensor unit (35) senses the passage of the transmitter elements 16, 34 or of a reference edge or a reference surface and generates a corresponding sequence of signals. The transmitter elements generate signals of different lengths and, within the relevant measuring range, signal intervals of different lengths between the signals. An evaluation unit (36) receives the signals. The evaluation unit (36) determines the torque applied and the direction of rotation from the distance in terms of time between the signals.
