摘要： Resinous compositions useful as coating compositions comprise blends of hydroxyfunctional polymers; organoalkoxy silane crosslinking agents represented by the formula: R.sub.n Si(OR').sub.4-n wherein R is an aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, XR .sub.4 -- or ##STR1## RADICAL, WHEREIN R.sub.1 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is a member selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals of 1 to 7 carbon atoms and carbonyloxy radicals represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.3 is an alkylene radical of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, wherein R.sub.4 is an alkylene radical of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a cycloalkylene radical, or an arylene radical and X is a functional group selected from the group consisting of --OH, --SH, ##STR3## halogen, NH.sub.2 --, ##STR4## and NH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --NH--, and wherein R' is methyl, ethyl, 2-methoxyethoxy, 2-ethoxyethoxy, m is 0 or 1 and n is 0, 1 or 2; and cure accelerating catalysts. Hydroxyfunctional polymers such as hydroxyfunctional acrylic polymers, polyesters and polyurethanes are particularly useful. Organic acids, metallic salts of organic acids and organic bases are useful cure accelerating catalysts.

摘要： In a curable composition which contains as its principal components an active hydrogen-containing resin, a curing agent, and an acid catalyst, improved properties result by utilizing as the acid catalyst an ammonium salt or substituted ammonium salt of a sulfocarboxylic acid ester. The resultant composition is capable of curing at a low temperature and exhibits good appearance, solvent resistance and intercoat adhesion.

The resinous binder of the coating compositions is based on a hard polyester polyol containing cyclic moieties plasticized with a soft polyurethane polyol and cured with a curing agent capable of reacting with active hydrogens, for example, an aminoplast curing agent. The coating compositions are particularly useful on elastomeric substrates such as high density polyurethane foams, as well as on metal substrates such as steel and aluminum.

摘要： Coating compositions having a high degree of elasticity, as well as toughness, durability and good metallic pigment pattern control are disclosed. This combination of properties makes the coatings particularly desirable for use on elastomeric substrates such as those associated with automobiles. The coating compositions comprise as a resinous component, an ungelled hydroxyl-containing polyester of high weight average molecular weight. The polyesters can be cured with a curative such as an aminoplast to give coatings having outstanding elastomeric properties and good pigment dispersibility, particularly good metallic pigment pattern control, properties not normally associated with polyesters for use in coating applications.

The coatings are particularly useful on resilient and rubbery substrates such as EPDM rubber, foam rubber, polyurethane foam and vinyl foam and on soft metal surfaces such as steel and aluminum.

摘要： Thermoplastic coatings have a high degree of extensibility, gloss retention, good sprayability and other desirable properties are obtained from ungelled, storage-stable compositions comprising the reaction product of (A) an interpolymer of a hydroxyalkyl ester of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and a copolymerizable compound, (B) an organic polyisocyanate, and (C) a polymeric polyol of low glass transition temperature. Rather than using the interpolymer itself, it is also possible to form useful products by reacting (B) and (C) with a hydroxyalkyl ester monomer in combustion with another copolymerizable monomer. These compositions when used as coatings are adherent, durable and highly extensible. The coatings are particularly useful on resilient and rubbery substrates such as foam rubber, polyurethane foams and vinyl foam and on metal surfaces such as mild steel and aluminum.
