    • A tool head for a motor-driven, manually guided implement for receiving a rotatable cutter tool is provided. The tool head comprises a housing in which is provided a tool shaft that is rotatably mounted via bearings. Secured on the tool shaft so as to turn with it is a tool carrying mechanism for the cutter tool. This tool carrying mechanism includes an engagement plate having an engagement surface, which is oriented perpendicular to the axis of the shaft, and a centering shoulder. The engagement plate and a centering element having the centering shoulder are embodied as separate components. The engagement plate is of light weight construction and is positively connected with the tool shaft. The centering element is made of a material, the hardness of which is adapted to the cutter tool.

The eccentric gear arrangement includes two shearing blades (2, 3) driven in mutually opposite directions over a displacement path (a). Each shearing blade has a connecting link (4, 5) as well as an eccentric wheel (6) having a drive wheel (7) and two eccentrics (8, 9). The eccentric wheel (6) rotates about a rotational axis (10). The two connecting links (4, 5) lie directly above one another. The two eccentrics (8, 9) are arranged on the same side of the drive wheel (7) and engage each in one of the two connecting links (4, 5). The two shearing blades (2, 3) have contact pressure surfaces (11, 12) in the region of their two connecting links (4, 5) and are offset with respect to each other in such a manner that they are exposed at least over a portion of the displacement path (a). Two downholders (13, 14) are provided which act each on one of the assigned contact pressure surfaces (11, 12).

    • The invention relates to internal combustion engines and especially to two-stroke engines for portable handheld work tools such as motor-driven chain saws or the like. Material made of light metal alloys is used in two-stroke engines for portable handheld tools in order to save weight. Thus, the crankshaft bearing is made of steel while the bearing covers holding the bearing are made of a magnesium alloy. Heating causes the bearing cover to expand by an amount greater than the crankshaft bearing whereby the press fit of the crankshaft bearing can become endangered and, in an extreme case, a clearance can develop between the crankshaft bearing and the bearing cover. According to the invention, the press fit between the crankshaft bearing and the bearing cover is maintained by placing a plastic annular segment therebetween having a thermal expansion coefficient so selected that it compensates for the different thermal expansions of the bearing cover and the bearing.
