    • A sealing technique is disclosed by which the firing voltage of atmospheric discharge is increased by a pressurizing procedure such that the internal pressure of a sealing chamber is held at room temperature above half (0.5) of the atmospheric pressure even after the completion of sealing. Preferably, the pressurizing procedure is accomplished by a partial modification in the existing sealing facilities (for example, belt furnaces and low temperature furnaces). In another aspect of the invention, the method for sealing a semiconductor device minimizes water in the chamber after sealing by suppressing water expelled from glass frit during sealing or allowing the glass frit to absorb the water expelled therefrom. In other words, sealing is performed first under nitrogen gas atmosphere and then under oxygen gas atmosphere.

    • The display device includes a display panel and a plurality of wiring boards placed along the periphery of the display panel. The display panel has panel-side connection wiring for electrically connecting first and second wiring boards adjacent to each other among the plurality of wiring boards. Each of the plurality of wiring boards has an insulating base, a board-side wiring group running on the insulating base, and at least one driving circuit element for driving the display panel. The board-side wiring group is composed of element-connected wiring electrically connected to the driving circuit element and non-connected wiring having no electrical connection to the driving circuit element. The panel-side connection wiring is formed so that the element-connected wiring of the first wiring board and the non-connected wiring of the second wiring board are electrically connected to each other.

    • A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal panel and a plurality of TCPs each mounted with a liquid crystal driver IC. Around the liquid crystal driver IC, the TCP has signal input lines for inputting signals to the liquid crystal driver IC, first signal-output lines for feeding output signals of the liquid crystal driver IC to the liquid crystal panel, second signal-output lines for feeding the output signals of the liquid crystal driver IC to the adjacent TCP, power supply lines for driving the liquid crystal driver IC, and counter-electrode lines for feeding counter-electrode signals to the liquid crystal panel. The two counter-electrode lines are electrically connected to each other by means of a jumper chip. The wirings of the TCP are connected with the corresponding electrode terminals of the liquid crystal panel in a belt-shaped terminal connection area.
