    • A defroster/face cool air passage for introducing cooled air from an evaporator to a defroster opening portion and a face opening portion by bypassing a heater core, and a foot cool air passage for introducing cooled air from the evaporator to a foot opening portion by bypassing a heater core, are formed independently from each other. The foot cool air passage is located at sides of the heater core in a vehicle right-and-left direction. The cooled air from the foot cool air passage is mixed with warmed air having passed through the heater core at an inlet of the foot opening portion. Accordingly, pressure loss at a foot mode in an air conditioning unit with a central installation layout is reduced, and a mounting performance on a central portion of a vehicle instrument panel is improved.

    • In an air conditioner for vehicles which has an air conditioning unit mounted at a roof portion of the vehicle, an evaporator and a heat exchanger for heating to air-condition a cabin of the vehicle, provided are plural blow-out opening portions which are formed in the air conditioning unit and open air flow passages in accordance with each blow-out mode, plural blow-out ports which are connected to the corresponding blow-out opening portions provided at the ceiling portion of the vehicle so as to intercommunicate with the blow-out opening portions and blow out air-conditioned air adjusted in temperature, foot blow-out ports of the blow-out ports through which hot air is blown out downwardly in the cabin of the vehicle, and an air blowing unit for sucking hot air blown out from the foot blow-out ports and blowing out the hot air thus sucked to the feed of occupants.

    • An air-conditioning system for a truck comprises an air-conditioning unit mounted on a vehicle roof, which has an evaporator and other components for constituting a refrigerating cycle to control temperature of air and to supply the conditioned air into a passenger compartment through multiple blower ducts. The vehicle roof is provided with multiple roof openings, through which the air-conditioning unit and the multiple blower ducts are connected. Each of the blower ducts has an air inlet opening at its upstream side and blower openings at its downstream side, and at least two of the air inlet openings are arranged to close to each other so that a bifurcated connecting element connects the two blower ducts to the unit case through one roof opening. Further, multiple blower openings for different operational modes, such as a face blower opening and a nap-taking blower opening, are formed in a common blower duct, to reduce the number of blower ducts and thereby the number of the roof openings.
