    • There is provided a disk brake, comprising: a pad supporting member where at least a pair of lining pads is supported, and at least two first installation holes are provided at a mounting portion that is installed to a vehicle; at least two second installation holes provided at a non-rotational portion of the vehicle; and a fixing bolt installed into the first and second installation holes so as to fasten the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion, wherein a reinforcement member is provided with at least two internal thread portions into which the fixing bolt is screwed, the reinforcement member being formed with materials different from the ones of the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion, and the mounting portion and the non-rotational portion are fastened by means of the reinforcement member and the fixing bolt.

    • A disk brake and a method of making the disk brake capable of improving the efficiency of manufacturing a caliper. A bottom portion (41) of a bore (40) is formed by integrally welding an opening surrounding portion at the bottom portion side of a cylinder portion (35) and a bottom cover member (92) fitted to the opening surrounding portion by friction stir welding. The bottom cover member is formed into a disk shape, and provided with a protrusion (68) at one surface side facing the interior of the bore. An inflow hole (58), for a supply of a fluid pressure into the bore, is formed within the range of the protrusion to establish communication between an interior surface (71) of the protrusion and an outer surface (63) of the bore.

    • In the disk brake of the present invention, each arm of the carrier has a projecting pad guide, and each friction pad has recesses fitted onto the pad guides of the carrier. Each pad spring has integrally formed therewith a generally U-shaped guide plate which is bent along the pad guide and resiliently engaged with and presses against the pad guide to thereby mount the pad spring on the arm of the carrier. Each recess of the friction pads includes a groove at a position corresponding to at least one bent portion of the guide plate, which is separated from a corner portion of the pad guide and deformed into a projection toward the recess.
