    • Provided is an apparatus for controlling multiple powers which is capable of turning on and off the multiple powers in their priorities for systems or components to be supplied with the multiple powers such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) module. In the apparatus for controlling multiple powers, an on-signal of high level is applied to an input terminal, and an output of a control signal generating unit is sequentially changed to a high level whenever a clock is applied to a clock signal input terminal by one period, so that outputs of the multiple powers are sequentially output. In addition, an off signal of low level is applied to the input terminal, and an output of the control signal generating unit is changed to a low level in a reversal order whenever a clock is applied to the clock signal input terminal by one period, so that outputs of the multiple powers are interrupted in the reversal order.

    • Provided is a method for converting a dimension of a vector. The vector dimension conversion method for vector quantization includes the steps of: extracting a specific parameter having a pitch period from an input speech signal and then generating a vector of a dimension that varies according to the pitch period; dividing an entire frequency domain of the generated vector of the variable dimension into at least two frequency domains; and converting the vector of the variable dimension into vectors of mutually different fixed dimensions according to the divided frequency domains. Thereby, not only an error due to the vector dimension conversion is suppressed but codebook memory required for the vector quantization is effectively reduced.

    • Disclosed herein are a broadcast signal retransmission system and method using illuminating visible-light communication. The broadcast signal retransmission system comprises one or more light-emitting diode (LED) lighting fixtures, one or more smart communicators, and a home server. The home server receives and demodulates a multi-channel broadcast signal and, in reply to a signal request message from a smart communicator, transmits a demodulated broadcast channel signal through a power line to an LED lighting fixture indicated by the signal request message. The LED lighting fixture converts the broadcast channel signal into a light signal. The smart communicator receives the light signal from the LED lighting fixture and decodes the light signal into a broadcast signal. As a result, the user can selectively receive a broadcast signal of a desired channel using a smart communicator via a nearby LED lighting fixture.
