摘要： A projection type video display is provided with three illuminating devices R, G, B. The illuminating device R emits light in red, the illuminating device G emits light in green, and the illuminating device B emits light in blue. The lights emitted from the respective illuminating devices are guided onto transparent liquid crystal display panels R, G, B by convex lenses. Each illuminating device is formed of a light source, a light guide, a condenser lens, and an integrator lens. The light source is formed of having one or a plurality of LED chips aligned on a plain surface. The LED chips have photonic crystal structure, and a light-emission direction approximately vertical to a light-emitting surface, thus high in directionality.

摘要： Modulated light (image light) which has been modulated by passing through a liquid crystal display panel passes through an apical angle variable prism (so-called, a vari-angle prism) and then is enlarged and projected by a projection lens. The apical angle variable prism is configured to change the prism apical angle with, for example, an electromagnetic actuator. The microcomputer calculates a projection optical axis correction value based on hand shake detection signals from a sensor and controls the aforementioned actuator based on the correction value. With this control, shakes of projected images due to hand shakes are prevented.

摘要： An illuminating device comprises a first light source in which LED chips are arranged in an array shape and a second light source in which LED chips are arranged in an array shape. The two light sources of each illuminating device are arranged such that the main light-emission optical axes of the light sources are perpendicular to each other. Moreover, a time-division switching mirror is provided at a crossing position between the main light-emission optical axes. The first light source and the second light source alternately emit pulses of light. The pulsed emission is a method of supplying a large amount of electric currents to the LED chips in a short time period, and a light-emitting amount increases compared to a steady-state emission of the LED chips. The time-division switching mirror becomes a transmitting state when the first light source is lighted, and becomes a reflecting state when the second light source is lighted.

The ion wind generator (20) produces an air current by negatively ionizing air by corona discharges at a needle electrode (21), or negative side, and drawing the negatively-ionized air at a cylindrical electrode (22), or positive side.
