摘要： A system and method for connecting a first fluid carrying tube and a second fluid carrying tube or tube fitting includes a first tube having a lumen therethrough and an open end, and a second tube or tube fitting having a lumen therethrough and an open end. The first tube and second tube (or tube fitting) are connected by connecting means, including a bubble elimination chamber, in a first position, wherein the lumen of the tube, the lumen of the connecting means and the lumen of the tube fitting form a fluid-tight circuit and the bubble elimination chamber is open to the circuit, to permit elimination of any bubbles in the fluid circuit to the bubble elimination chamber. The first tube, connecting means and second tube (or tube fitting) then are connected in a second position, wherein a continuous, fluid-tight, bubble-free fluid circuit is formed, and the bubble elimination chamber is closed to the fluid circuit. The connecting means may include a soft connector alone or in combination with a connector tube.

摘要： A preassembled PBY circuit includes a blood pump, an oxygenator, a blood line, a filter/trap, a cannulae line subassembly, and a return line. The blood pump, oxygenator, blood line, filter/trap, cannulae line subassembly, and return line are serially arranged in a closed loop configuration, and a prime line is attached in fluid communication with the circuit. The cannulae line subassembly includes a first cannula line attached to the return line, a second cannula line attached to the filter/trap, and a removable connector for connecting the first and second cannulae lines in fluid communication. Each of the cannulae lines is prearranged in a helical configuration. The circuit is arranged for suspension, such that, when suspended, the filter/trap is located at a high point of the circuit, and the prime line is attached at a low point of the circuit. In this manner, priming fluid is introduced through the prime line, enters at a low point of the circuit, and fills the circuit in a bottom-to-top priming operation.

摘要： A catheter for delivering ultrasonic energy and therapeutic compounds to a treatment site within a patient's vasculature comprises a tubular body. The tubular body has a proximal region and a distal region opposite the proximal region. The catheter further comprises a plurality of fluid delivery lumens formed into the tubular body. The catheter further comprises an inner core configured for insertion into the tubular body. The inner core comprises an elongate electrical conductor having a plurality of flattened regions, each flattened region having a first flat side and a second flat side opposite the first flat side. The inner core further comprises a plurality of ultrasound radiating members mounted in pairs to the flattened regions of the elongate electrical conductor. A first ultrasound radiating member is mounted to the first flat side of the elongate electrical conductor, and a second ultrasound radiating member is mounted to the second flat side of the elongate electrical conductor. The catheter further comprises control electronics configured to apply a driving signal to at least two, but fewer than all, of the ultrasound radiating members.

摘要： An ultrasound catheter with a lumen for fluid delivery and fluid evacuation, and an ultrasound source is used for the treatment of intracerebral or intraventricular hemorrhages. After the catheter is inserted into a blood clot, a lytic drug can be delivered to the blood clot via the lumen while applying ultrasonic energy to the treatment site. As the blood clot is dissolved, the liquefied blood clot can be removed by evacuation through the lumen.

The inlet conduit may include a stylet or elastomeric sleeve that facilitates placement, while the outlet conduit may include a valve for limiting a peak pressure attained in the coronary venous system. A motor-driven or hydraulically-actuated pump optionally may be coupled in the flow path, and control circuitry provided to control the pump with a user selected duty cycle.

The method further comprises performing a clot dissolution treatment at the treatment site. The method further comprises receiving the thermal measurement signal at a second portion of the catheter. The method further comprises comparing the delivered thermal measurement signal with the received thermal measurement signal to evaluate a blood flow rate at the treatment site.
