    • The present novel organosilicon compound is a 2-trimethoxysilylpropionate represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms. This ester reacts efficiently with alcohols and silanols and is useful, for example, as a terminal alkoxysilylating agent for organopolysiloxanes such as industrially useful .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxypolydimethylsiloxane, or as a surface treatment for silicas, or as a storage stabilizer that serves as a scavenger of an alcohol for alcohol elimination type RTV. Further, since the present organosilicon compound is a three-functional alkoxysilane having three methoxy groups in the molecule, it is useful as a curing agent for alcohol elimination type RTV.

    • A room temperature curable rubber composition of a condensation curing type that comprises as a base polymer a diorganopolysiloxane or a polyoxyalkylene in which both ends of the molecular chain are blocked with a hydrolyzable silyl group, and a .beta.-dicarbonyl compound and an amino group containing organic compound that are blended with the base polymer. Since the room temperature curable rubber composition is cured with water in the air and at the same time the dehydration condensation of the .beta.-carbonyl group and the amino group produces water in the composition, the quick curability and deep curability are improved remarkably. In addition, since this dehydration condensation reaction is an irreversible reaction, the product produced by the condensation dehydration is hydrolyzed to prevent the amino group containing compound from being regenerated, and as a result the hydrophilic nature of the cured product is prevented from increasing not to damage the water resistance.

    • Silicone compositions comprising an organopolysiloxane composition and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals are described. Since the organic compound is preferentially adsorbed on a metal surface, the composition is particularly suitable for use in electric or electronic parts to prevent contact failure. A more specific embodiment comprises a diorganopolysiloxane of the average unit formula, R.sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2, wherein each R independently represents an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, and a is a value of from 1.90 to 2.05, a filler, an alkoxysilane or its hydrolyzate, a silylation catalyst made of an organic silicon compound having at least one specific type of group, an organic tin compound, another organosilicon compound capable of reaction with an alcohol in order to stabilize the composition, and an organic compound capable of coordination with metals.

    • A novel acrylic-functional organopolysiloxane is proposed which has a plural number of silicon-bonded (meth)acryloxyalkyl groups at each molecular chain end along with one or more of silicon-bonded alkoxy groups. The organopolysiloxane exhibits high curability by the irradiation with ultraviolet light or dual curability either by the ultraviolet irradiation or by the dealcoholation condensation reaction in a moisture-containing atmosphere. The acrylic-functional organopolysiloxane is prepared by the dealcoholation condensation reaction between a starting organopolysiloxane having a plural number of silicon-bonded alkoxy groups at each molecular chain end and a (meth)acryloxyalkyl dimethyl silanol compound in the presence of a specific condensation catalyst which is a divalent tin compound such as tin (II) dioctoate promoting the dealcoholation condensation but suppressing the silanol condensation reaction between the moleculaes of the (meth)acryloxyalkyl dimethyl silanol compound.
