    • An injection screw position Xa, injection speed Va, and injection pressure Pa are read. A deceleration distance D the injection screw moves from the point where the injection operation has been stopped at the current moment to be decelerated by maximum deceleration till the point where the injection speed is reduced to zero is determined from a corrected deceleration in which the amount of correction α is added to a predetermined deceleration A inherent in the machine and the read injection speed Va. The determined deceleration distance D is multiplied by the amount of change in injection pressure with respect to the amount of change in the injection screw position to determine a predicted increment in pressure (D·ΔP/ΔX). The predicted increment in pressure is added to the current injection pressure Pa to determine an injection pressure Pa* predicted when the screw is suddenly decelerated at the current moment. If the predicted injection pressure Pa* exceeds the predetermined limit pressure Pmax, the injection operation is stopped to decelerate the screw.

    • A controller of injection molding machine capable of stabilizing a peak pressure of resin appearing when an injection process is switched to a pressure-holding process, by reducing the variation of the peak pressure. Resin pressure Pr is detected at every predetermined sampling period Δt. There is a time lag between the time at which the resin pressure reaches an injection/pressure-holding switch determining resin pressure P(v−p) and the sampling time t2 at which the resin pressure that has reached the value P(v−P) is detected. Hence, a difference Ve between the detected resin pressure value Pr′ and the switch determining resin pressure P(v−p) is obtained. The transition time period T in which pressure should be changed from a pressure-holding start pressure Ps to a pressure-holding pressure Pp is corrected by T=T0−α×Ve to make the transition time period T shorter when the difference Ve is greater, to thereby hold down the peak pressure Pmax. By this, the variation ΔPmax of the peak pressure Pmax is reduced. Since the pressure is kept uniform, the quality of a molded produce improves.

    • A monitoring device for an injection molding machine whereby the state of resin sheared by a rotating screw can be easily monitored. During the period from the start to end of metering process, the rate of heat generated by a heater for heating an injection cylinder is obtained by multiplying an on/off ratio B of the heater by a coefficient K and stored in a memory location THmem(n). Also, a time elapsed from the start of the metering is obtained by adding up a processing period T and stored in a memory location Tim(n). The heat generation rates of the heater stored in memory and corresponding to the respective elapsed times are displayed in graph form. The temperature of the injection cylinder represents heat generated by the heater plus heat generated due to resin shearing. Since the heat generation rate of the heater is detected, the rate of heat generated due to resin shearing can be grasped relatively from the detected heat generation rate, making it possible to monitor the state of the resin sheared by the rotating screw. The resin shearing state can be monitored by simple processing of detecting and displaying the heat generation rate of the heater.
