    • A compressed air servicing unit is provided, which possesses a plurality of modules, such as pressure controllers, filters oilers or the like, adapted to be attached together in any desired order and having module housings, one of such modules being designed in the form of a monitoring unit for the other modules and being electrically connected with same. A bus line, connecting the modules together, of a bus system is provided and furthermore the monitoring module performing control functions as well is provided with a central unit of the bus system and the other modules are provided respectively with a bus subscriber station, sensors and/or actuators present in or on a module respectively, being connected with the associated bus subscriber station. This means that the modules may be arranged in practically any desired order and in an desired number without any problem occurring with electrical wiring or due to incorrect bus subscriber station connections.

    • A pressure control valve, which possesses a primary pressure port, a secondary pressure port and a venting port. For control of the secondary pressure a valve operating device is present which is actuated by a control pressure present in a control chamber. A mechanical spring device urges the valve operating device against the direction of action of the control pressure in such a manner that when ambient pressure obtains in the control chamber, it automatically assumes a basic setting, in which the secondary pressure port is connected with the venting port for fluid flow. It is in this manner that there is an automatic venting of the secondary pressure port when the control chamber is free of pressure.

    • A personal computer or equivalent is programmed to create a virtual operating unit for a robotic device (eg., a micro-processor controlled machine, conveyor, etc.). The actual operating unit, which plugs into the robotic device and controls it, includes a keypad and a display. When reprogramming the machine, the operating unit is unplugged and the computer is plugged in. The computer can be switched between two modes. In a programming mode, the computer is used to modify the program in the robotic device microprocessor. In an operating mode, the computer mimics the operating unit to test the newly-entered program. On the computer screen are generated a virtual display (the image of the actual display of the operating unit) and a map of the operating unit keypad. The technician observes the virtual display on the computer screen and enters commands, indirectly, through the computer's keyboard instead of through the actual operating unit keypad. The virtual operating unit allows the robotic device program to be tested without disconnecting the personal computer and re-connecting the actual operating unit. The virtual keys may be highlighted, as by flashing, when the corresponding keys of the computer keyboard are touched.
