    • Web lifter and/or stabilizer and method of lifting and/or stabilizing a travelling web and coating a web. The device creates a web hold down force via a negative pressure slot at its exit side, which draws the web down against the surface on the entry side. The device can be actuated to move the web relative to slot die coater off the die lips and stop the application of slurry to the web, thereby creating uncoated regions on the web surface. The device can be actuated to move the web back into contact with the coater to start the application of slurry to the web, creating coated regions on the web surface. Web lifting can be accomplished by rotating the device in first and second directions to lift the web off of the slot die coater and return the web back into contact with the coater.

    • The detection method includes generating a plurality of neural network models. Each model has as a training set a data set from a plurality of samples of a commodity of known origins. Each sample has been analyzed for a plurality of elemental concentrations. Each neural network model is presented for classification a test data set from a plurality of samples of a commodity of unknown origins. As with the training set, the samples have been analyzed for the same plurality of elemental concentrations. Next a bootstrap aggregating strategy is employed to combine the results of the classifications for each sample in the test data set made by each neural network model. Finally, a determination is made from the bootstrap aggregating strategy as to a final classification of each sample in the test data set. This final classification is indicative of the geographical origin of the commodity. The system includes software for generating the neural network models and a software routine for performing the bootstrap aggregating strategy.

    • The archery training device allows an archer to properly train his or her muscles, as well as train for proper archery technique. The archery training device includes a support having a plurality of pairs of apertures formed therethrough. A plurality of elastic members each has opposed first and second ends, which are respectively received within one of the plurality of pairs of apertures and attached to the support. Optionally, the upper end of an elastic band may be releasably attached to the support. A lower end of the optional elastic band is adapted for being held against a support surface by the foot of the archer. In use, the archer grasps the support with the bow hand and grasps a selected number of the plurality of elastic members with the string hand to simulate a string pull of an archery bow.
