    • Provided is a display device with which it is possible to implement a novel display. A display device (100) comprises: a display unit (10) which displays a display image including a notification image for notifying of a vehicle state in a display region; a framing unit (30) which is located upon the display region of the display unit (10) and is configured from a plurality of components (first component (31), second component (32)); and a moving device (40) which moves at least one of the plurality of components. The framing unit (30) is segmented by moving at least one of the components by the moving mechanism (40). Prior to segmenting, the framing unit (30) surrounds a partial region of the display region of the display unit (10). The display unit (10) displays a different display image before and after the segmenting of the framing unit (30), and displays a notification image which fits the shape of the framing unit (30) at least either before or after the segmentation of the framing unit (30).

    • An on-vehicle display apparatus with an increased flat display size. The on-vehicle display apparatus includes a flat display capable of displaying various types of information, a light-transmitting substrate provided on a front-face side of the flat display, a pointer provided in the light-transmitting substrate, and a pointer drive means provided on a back-face side of the flat display. The pointer drive means rotates the pointer. The apparatus further includes a movement mechanism for moving the light-transmitting substrate to the outside of a display range. A first magnet is provided for the pointer, and a second magnet is provided for the pointer drive means and is configured to be opposite to first magnet.

    • To provide an indicator apparatus in which a pointer is secured to a pointer drive means by attraction force of magnets and the pointer can be secured more tightly to prevent an overshoot and pulsation of the pointer.     • A dump information acquiring method and a system recovery method for a computer system using a virtual memory, the methods being used when fault occurs in the computer system. The computer system has a plurality of external storage units used as a paging device unit for holding the contents of the virtual memory to be paged out from a main memory. During the normal operation, an external storage unit selected from the plurality of external storage units is used as the paging device unit. When fault occurs, a program for acquiring dump information operates to output the contents of the main storage at the time of the fault occurrence to a dump file. The identifier of the external storage unit set to definition information for defining the external storage unit used as the paging device unit is changed from the identifier of the external storage unit used as the page device unit to the identifier of another external storage unit. Thereafter, the computer system is restarted.
