摘要： A process for preparing hydroxyalkylaminosulfonic acids which comprises reacting a hydroxyalkylamine of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 hydroxyalkyl group optionally containing --O-- or --COO-- in the alkyl chain, and R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 hydroxyalkyl group optionally containing --O-- or --COO-- in the alkyl chain, or a lower alkyl group, with an alkali metal salt of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated sulfonic acid of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and M is an alkali metal, followed by elimination of the alkali metal to give a hydroxyalkylaminosulfonic acid of the formula: ##STR3## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are each as defined above and R.sub.2 ' is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 hydroxyalkyl group optionally containing --O-- or --COO-- in the alkyl chain, a lower alkyl group or a group of the formula: ##STR4## wherein R.sub.3 is as defined above.

C. higher than that of the base resin, or a resin in which Tg is 20.degree. 摘要： Disclosed is an improved process of the post-emulsion method capable of forming crosslinked resin particles which do not have fusion bonds between particles and which have good storage stability and good redispersibility in an aqueous medium. The process comprises (a) dispersing in an aqueous medium a resinous component comprising (I) a base resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 0.degree. C. or less and a polymerizable double bond, (II) a monomer which, when polymerized, provides a resin of which Tg is 20.degree. C. higher than that of said base resin, or a resin of which Tg is 20.degree. C. higher than that of the base resin, and (III) a polyvinyl compound; (b) crosslinking inside the dispersed resin particles and; (c) removing the aqueous medium therefrom.

摘要： A resinous emulsion is prepared by copolymerizing .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomers and a crosslinking monomer which is at least difunctional, in an aqueous medium in the presence of a resin having an amphoionic group of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylene or phenylene and Y is --COOH or --SO.sub.3 H, or in the presence of a resin having the above said amphoionic group and a polymerizable .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated bonding. The thus obtained emulsion is useful for the obtainment of crosslinked polymer microparticles to be incorporated in a high solid coating composition or for the preparation of aqueous coating composition because of having contained no harmful emulsifier or surfactant.
