摘要： An internal combustion engine is provided with a cartridge containing a fuel/oil mixture where the fuel is liquid, normally gaseous fuel. The cartridges can be readily mounted or demounted from the engine, and provide flexibility of use coupled with easy starting. The use of the fuel/oil cartridges eliminates the need to separately mix oil and fuel, and eliminates substantial contact of the user with an oily fuel/oil mixture. The two cycle and four cycle cartridge-type engines are suitable for use in many hand-powered implements, including line trimmers, chain saws, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.

A crankcase (4) of a four-cycle engine (1) has a crank room (41) which rotatably supports a crankshaft (10) and an oil room (42) which is provided adjacent to the exterior of the crank room (41). The crankcase (4) also has partition walls (43) and (44) which partition the interior of the crankcase (4) into the crank room (41) and the oil room (42), respectively, and a communication path (45) which communicates the crank room (41) with the oil room (42). The partition walls (43) and (44) each has a cross section formed in a substantially V shape, and the communication path (45) is formed at an apex between the partition walls (43) and (44).

The valve retainer can be easily assembled with a valve spring. Further, a cylinder head has an intake port comprising a lateral path which is in shape of a deep pan in cross section and whose height is gradually decreased from the inlet of the lateral path to a vertical path whose lower end has an opening portion to be opened and closed by a valve portion of the intake valve. Thereby, the mixing state of fuel and air is improved.

摘要： A sheet feeding and separting device incorporated in image forming equipment for feeding sheets one by one from a sheet stack while preventing two or more sheets from being fed together as far as possible and, when a plurality of sheets are accidentally fed together, surely separating one of them from the others. A pick-up member is implemented as an endless dielectric belt. An AC power source forms a charge pattern on the belt via an electrode. As a result, the belt retains a sheet by attraction and transports it due to the Maxwell stress generated in the sheet. When a plurality of sheets are fed together, an arresting member which faces the belt separates one of them from the others. Alternatively, a charge pattern may be formed on the surface of the arresting member.
