摘要： It is intended to provide a drug which is efficacious in treating and preventing diseases wherein ischemia or an inflammatory substance associated with ischemia participates in the onset or worsening thereof. Because of containing as the active ingredient a substance selected from among farnesol, a farnesol derivative, a tocopherol derivative, a tocotrienol derivative, pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof and solvates thereof, the above-described inhibitor of ischemic disorders can exert therapeutic and preventive effects on diseases wherein ischemia or an inflammatory substance associated with ischemia participates in the onset or worsening thereof (for example, brain infarction, brain edema, cardiac infarction, etc.) not only by the administration in the acute ischemic stage but also by the therapeutic administration in subacute and/or chronic stages after ischemia-reperfusion. It is also intended to provide a farnesol carboxylic acid ester derivative and a method of producing the same.

摘要： A data processing system for a chromatograph has an impurity detector including a differential chromatogram creator and a determining section. The differential chromatogram creator calculates a wavelength differential coefficient by differentiating an absorbance spectrum with respect to the wavelength at each point in time of the measurement and creates a differential chromatogram which shows a temporal change in the wavelength differential coefficient. Based on a shape of the thus created differential chromatogram, the determining section determines whether or not a peak of a target component contains an impurity. By this method, whether or not the peak of the target component contains an impurity can be determined with high accuracy, without requiring complex calculations.

摘要： A communication system for communicating a document comprising image data, character code data, and the like has: a receiver to receive the document data; a memory to store the received document data; a designating unit designate the data in the memory; an instructing unit to command the printing of the designated data; a printer to print the designated data on the basis of the instruction by the instructing unit; and a controller for allowing the received document data to be printed by the printer when a failure of the memory is detected even if printing is not commanded by the instructing unit. The failure of the memory may be a lack of memory capacity. The received document data may be output to either the memory or the printer in accordance with signals from the transmission side. This system includes another instructing unit to command the deletion of the designated document data from the memory. With this system, the document data sent from the transmission side can be certainly and promptly received by the reception side and can be printed out as necessary by command of the operator even if the auxiliary memory unit on the reception side is out of order.
