摘要： Interest in multicast group membership may be advertised via a routing system on an Ethernet network along with an indication of an algorithm to be used by the nodes on the network to calculate the distribution tree or trees for the multicast. Each node, upon receipt of the advertisement, will determine the algorithm that is to be used to produce the multicast tree and will use the algorithm to calculate whether it is on a path between nodes advertising common interest in the multicast. Example algorithms may include shortest path algorithms and spanning tree algorithms. This allows multicast membership to be managed via the routing control plane, while enabling spanning tree processes to be used to forward multicast traffic. Since spanning tree is able to install multicast state per service rather than per source per service, this reduces the amount of forwarding state required to implement multicasts on the routed Ethernet mesh network.

摘要： This disclosure relates generally to fax communication and more particularly to methods and systems for increasing quality and reliability of fax communications. In one embodiment, a method of communicating fax in a communication network is provided. The method includes diagnosing in real-time, by at least one network device, network parameters, availability of network resources, and technical capabilities of network devices involved in communicating fax; modifying dynamically, by the at least one network device, a fax mode to one of a set of pre-set fax modes based on result of the diagnosing the network parameters, availability of the network resources, and the technical capabilities of the network devices, wherein each of the set of pre-set fax modes corresponds to a quality of fax communication; and iteratively adapting, by the at least one network device, dynamic modification of the fax mode, based on historic fax mode modification and historic diagnosis data.

摘要： In one or more embodiments, a framework is provided in which image decoding can be delayed based on heuristics, and later initiated based on a use type associated with the image or the likelihood that the image is going to be used. For example, a use history and priority system can enable images that are currently being rendered and/or are likely to get rendered to be decoded before images that have a history of being downloaded but never used. Accordingly, by decoupling image download from image decoding, CPU resources and memory can be more efficiently utilized.
