    • A shell molding apparatus includes a lower die and an upper die. The lower die includes a plurality of shell molding inserts, each having the shape of a halved cylinder, spiny insert receiving recesses which are formed in undercut portions formed by curved surfaces of adjacent shell molding inserts, and spiny inserts retractably provided in the spiny insert receiving recesses, each spiny insert having a curved surface of the same curvature as the curved surface of the shell molding insert and provided with many protrusions on the curved surface. The upper die has a plurality of continuously formed recesses corresponding to the plurality of shell molding inserts of the lower die. The shell molding apparatus further includes a spiny insert actuating mechanism for projecting/retracting spiny inserts by operating withdrawal pins connected to the spiny inserts, a stopper mechanism for positioning the withdrawal pins at a position where the withdrawal pins exhibit the same thermal expansion, and a thermal expansion absorbing mechanism for the withdrawal pins. The shell molding apparatus further includes a sand releasing mechanism for preventing shell sand from stagnating between spiny insert receiving recesses and the spiny inserts, resulting in smooth performance of the spiny inserts.

    • A nozzle is disclosed which has a cylindrical nozzle main body. A nozzle tip of the nozzle comprises a plurality of members formed by dividing an approximately cylindrical member in the axial direction thereof and is accommodated in the interior of the nozzle main body. A spring is provided between a spring receiving section of the nozzle tip and a wall positioned on a forward side of the nozzle main body. At least one of a peripheral surface of a discharge section of the nozzle tip and an inner surface of a tip engaging opening of the nozzle main body is tapered. A self-cleaning operation is performed when the atomization pressure is reduced, because the spring urges the nozzle tip toward a rearward side of the nozzle main body.

    • A frequency dividing circuit for dividing an input signal provided from a signal source at a selected dividing ratio includes first and second cascade-connected frequency dividers with signal controlling gates connected between the signal source and the first frequency divider, between the first and second frequency dividers, and between the signal source and the gates connected between the first and second frequency dividers. The signal controlling gates may be selectively controlled by a control switch to define a first signal path that includes both the first and second frequency dividers to effectively divide the input signal by both frequency dividers or a second signal path that includes only the second frequency divider to effectively divide the input signal by the second frequency divider only.
