    • An injection valve is described, in particular for direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, with a valve body having a valve opening surrounded by a valve seat to form a spray opening, and with a valve needle which is pressed into its closed position, has a closing head and extends through the valve opening so that the closing head which works together with the valve seat is in contact with the valve seat on the spray side when the valve is closed. To ensure accurate fuel metering that is constant over a long period of time with such an injection valve, a plurality of fuel channels distributed around the periphery are arranged in the flow path upstream from the spray opening so that streams or strands of fuel coming out of the fuel channels are essentially maintained until downstream from the spray opening, and the individual cross sections of the fuel channels (29, 29', 29") together define a cross section of the flow path through the valve which determines the flow rate.

    • The protective cap for a fuel injection valve having a recess which extends radially outwards from a through flow passage, this recess being so small that it has a capillary effect on the fuel, so that when the internal combustion engine is stopped, the fuel constituents which boil at high temperatures are deposited on the radially outer edge of the recess, due the capillary action, and the injection orifice of the fuel injection valve remains free of deposits.     • An installation device for installing a fuel injection valve in a receiving bore of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. The installation device has a sheath element which at least partially encloses the fuel injection valve. The installation device can be introduced, together with the fuel injection valve, into the receiving bore. An inwardly angled first collar section, which can be nonpositively joined to a receiving section of the fuel injection valve receiving the first collar section in order to transfer both a pressing force serving to press the fuel injection valve into the receiving bore and a pulling force in the opposite direction, is provided on a first end of the sheath element.     • An attachment of a fuel injection valve is formed at least from the main body and the insert which bound the gas supply passages between them and direct the gas in a metered and targeted manner onto the sprayed fuel. The attachment makes it possible to separate the functions of gas supply and metering from those of sealing the fuel injection valve against an induction conduit and fastening the attachment on the fuel injection valve. Furthermore, the design configuration results in a large number of variants which can be achieved by very simple and low-cost exchangeability of parts by virtue of the modularity of the system. The fuel injection valve is particularly suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture compressing internal combustion engines with external ignition supply.
