    • An air-compressing reciprocating piston-equipped internal combustion engine comprises, in a piston head of the piston, a cavity being axially symmetrical about a central cavity axis and constituting a combustion chamber, as well as a fuel injection nozzle for injecting fuel directly into the said cavity. The nozzle has a longitudinal nozzle axis which encloses with the central cavity axis an acute angle. In order to generate a rotary motion of an air charge fed into the said cavity, there is provided a correspondingly designed air-feeding unit. A uniform distribution of the fuel in the cavity serving as combustion chamber is achieved by subdividing the cavity into imaginary compartments with the aid of dividing planes extending parallel with the central cavity axis, and each dividing plane through a different one of the axes through at least three orifices of the nozzle, in such a manner that the ratio of the fuel quantity ejected by a given nozzle orifice, in a specific injection phase, to the total amount of fuel ejected by all orifices of the nozzle during the same phase is about equal to the ratio of the volume of the respective imaginary compartment, following in the direction of air charge rotation after the said given nozzle, to the entire volume of the air charge in the piston cavity serving as the combustion chamber.

    • A divided flywheel for reducing vibrations transmitted from an engine to a power transmission line has an input and output part connected, respectively, to the engine and the transmission line. The input and output parts are coupled by coupling spring arrangement which allows for a degree of relative rotation of the parts. A plurality of attenuators (e.g., stop springs, friction linings, etc.) are arranged to take effect following selected predetermined angular displacements of the input and output parts. A preferred arrangement includes a connecting part, which is frictionally attached to one of the input and output parts and which engages the other of the parts following relative rotation by a first predetermined angular displacement, and a stop spring arrangement which is engaged following relative displacement of the parts by a second predetermined angular displacement.

    • The invention relates to a device for automatically regulating the voltage of a generator according to the load current. Said device comprises a first couple of clamps which can be connected to a couple of generator clamps carrying the load current and taps a first generator voltage from the generator coil, a second couple of clamps which can be connected to the couple of generator clamps and picks up a second generator voltage that is smaller than the first generator voltage from the generator coil, a third couple of clamps that supplies a control voltage to a control circuit which is provided with a control relay (9) having a switch for switching the connection between the couple of generator clamps and the first couple of clamps or the second couple of clamps. The couple of generator clamps, which is connected to the first couple of clamps by means of the switch, is connected to the second couple of clamps if the control voltage is greater than or equal to an upper threshold voltage of the control relay while the couple of generator clamps, which is connected to the second couple of clamps by means of the switch, is connected to the first couple of clamps if the control voltage is less than or equal to a lower threshold voltage of the control relay. The inventive device also comprises a bridging element that bridges the connection established by the switch between the couple of generator clamps and the first couple of clamps and is provided with a varistor, the on-state voltage of which lies above the difference between the two generator voltages but below the first generator voltage.

    • A split flywheel for reducing the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the drive shaft at certain frequencies of the flywheel is provided. Included are two flywheel elements drivingly connected to one another wherein one of which is connected or can be connected in a driven manner to the engine and the other of which is connected or can be connected in a driven manner to the drive line. The resonant frequency of the split flywheel unit is well below the frequency of engine vibrations which occur during normal traveling, so that only slight amplitudes of vibration occur between the flywheel elements during normal travel operation. However, during start-up of the engine, the resonant frequency of the flywheel is passed through. The drive connection between the elements a slip clutch having a greater friction contact than the maximum torque of the engine, placed in series with a spring mounting and positioned between the two flywheel elements.
