    • A method and system for providing a user interface to real time interactive video services. The method and system allow interactive input from a viewer of the video services simultaneously with viewing the video services. The method and system also allows an interactive response to the viewer from the interactive application. To present betting information in an attractive format and maximize the information available to the bettor, a user interface to the real-time service is required. With regard to real-time betting, the bettor is presented information concerning the betting opportunities and the betting window. Since most bettors prefer to have as much information as possible prior to betting, they prefer to wait until the last possible moment to bet. The disclosed embodiments provide the bettor with betting window information and the latest information concerning the prospective wagers. Moreover, the user interface is designed to provide such information in a manner that both attracts the attention of the bettor and provides the information in a useful, easy to follow and navigate format. The betting server checks the data transmission speed so that all users can have an adequate betting window. Users will receive confirmation of attempted bets. In WAP equipped mobile stations, betting can be accomplished across a wireless Internet connection. For example, bettors using GSM mobile stations can receive information by short message services through GSM SC.

    • A multi-player video game server includes a player control interface, a video interface, and a game engine. The player interface couples the game server to a network and can receive game control data over the network from multiple players. Each player has a game control device at which game control data can be input. The video interface couples the game server to a video transmission network and transmits game display video over the video transmission network. The game engine is coupled to the player interface and the video interface and includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores multi-player video game instructions that configure the processor to process game control data and render the game display video that is then provided to the video interface for transmission over a video network. A multi-player video gaming method includes receiving a number of player input data connections at a game server. Each of the game control data stream includes player input data from a different player of a multi-player video game. An output display image is generated at the game server by executing video game instructions to process the player input data connections from the multiple players as inputs to the same multi-player game. The output display image is then transmitted over a channel of a video transmission network.

    • This present invention includes a method and an apparatus for receiving motion video, a method and a system for transmitting motion video, and software to implement the methods and to program the system and the apparatus. The method for receiving motion video includes receiving motion video data at a wireless from a motion video server via a wireless interface, displaying the motion video on a video display on the wireless terminal, and transmitting to the motion video server via the wireless interface display control commands to alter the presentation characteristics of received motion video. If for instance the display control command instructs the motion video server to increase the speed of the motion depicted in the video presentation, the motion video server may filter out any audio data and reduce the number of video image frames transmitted to the wireless terminal. The method for transmitting motion video includes receiving motion video data from a motion video server, transmitting the motion video data to a wireless terminal via a wireless interface, receiving from the wireless terminal via the wireless interface display control commands to alter the presentation characteristics of motion video, and transmitting the display control commands to the motion video server. The invention may be implemented, for example, in an apparatus such as a wireless telephone and in a system such as a digital wireless telephony network.

    • A method and system for providing real time scratch-off lottery like games over a wireless network. The method and system allow a user of a wireless station to play a lottery game electronically with the feel of real-time scratch and win determination. Substantially concurrently, security, including win/loss determination is maintained by a betting service provider on a system apart from the wireless station of the user. The system tracks user accounts, outstanding lottery games, and randomly determines win/loss information. The user is notified of win or loss (or the value “underneath” the scratch-off block in near real time.
