摘要： A core is formed and a prefabricated bearing bore is provided. Two separate projections are provided on the core wherein free projection edges of the two separate projections have a respective shaping radius between R=0.sub.mm and R.ltoreq.0.45.sub.mm. Subsequently indentations are produced in a circumferential area of the bearing bore by the two separate projections on the core wherein the indentations serve as fracture notches. The cast engine part is then formed by casting metal around the core using said fraction notches as incipient crack sites.

摘要： A method produces a cast component of an internal combustion engine with a cast-in pipe. Expendable molds and a permanent pattern, or permanent molds are used in the method. A solid core mold is mounted in a split outer mold. To solve the problem of the pipe changing its position during the casting of the component, a separate pipe holder is integrated into the outer mold or the core mold. The pipe is inserted into a retaining section of the pipe holder that is configured in such a manner that it locally surrounds the outer circumference of the pipe at least in part and with little play so that the pipe can expand in the axial direction during casting but is secured against displacements in radial directions caused by buoyancy forces of the liquid casting material. Subsequently the component is cast.

The crankshaft bearings are connected with the flange plate by way of struts.
