摘要： A cylinder block includes a support wall part that rotatably supports a crank shaft. The support wall part has a fitting recess part to which a bearing cap can be fitted. In each of the left and right corner parts where a bottom surface and a fitting surface of the fitting recess part intersect, a notch groove is formed that extends in the array direction of cylinder bores and has a substantially arc-shaped cross section when cut by the virtual plane along the extension direction thereof. As a result, stress having a greater value as the location becomes closer to the center part in the extension direction of the notch groove can be substantially uniform in the extension direction of said notch groove, and it is possible to effectively mitigate the stress concentration.

The method includes arranging at least a first component in a mold, arranging a second component or a second component precursor adjacent to the first component in the mold, introducing a sacrificial material into the mold, introducing at least one polymeric fluid into the mold, solidifying the polymeric fluid, and removing the sacrificial material from the mold to form a void space so that the first component, the polymeric composite material, and the void space define the vehicle assembly.

摘要： An accessory mounting structure for an engine includes an engine body, and a transmission disposed on an end of the engine body in the cylinder array direction and to which output of the engine is transmitted via a crankshaft of the engine body. When the output side of the crankshaft with respect to the transmission in the cylinder array direction is defined as a rear side, and the side of the crankshaft opposite to the rear side is defined as a front side, a fuel pump configured to feed fuel to an injector, and a starter configured to rotate the crankshaft at an engine start time are disposed on a rear end portion of an intake manifold mounting surface of the engine body. When the engine is viewed from the cylinder array direction, the starter projects outwardly with respect to the fuel pump in the engine width direction.

An air cleaner (55) is disposed rearwardly of the cylinder block (42) and above the crank case (40). An outlet (72) through which blow-by gas (G) in the engine (E) is discharged is formed in the rear portion of the cylinder block (42). A case body (84) of the air cleaner (55) has a blow-by gas introduction port (86) through which the blow-by gas (G) is introduced into the air cleaner (55). The outlet (72) of the cylinder block (42) and the blow-by gas introduction port (86) of the case body (84) are connected by a connecting pipe (90). The blow-by gas introduction port (86) is disposed close to the cylinder block (42).
