    • A burner of wick type is disclosed which secures user safety by stopping combustion through an oxygen depletion protection function in the event of an oxygen depletion. When tar is accumulated in the wick, the wick is burnt to clean the tar with the liquid fuel supply cut off, thus burning out the liquid fuel contained in the wick. In the process, the combustion temporarily becomes unstable and a great amount of carbon monoxide is generated, resulting in a state similar to oxygen depletion. In a burner with an oxygen depletion protection function, the combustion is stopped during the wick cleaning, with the result that most of the tar accumulated in the wick remains unburnt, adversely affecting both the fuel absorption characteristic and service life of the wick. This invention is such that the oxygen depletion protection function is not operated during the wick cleaning. The tar accumulated in the wick is mostly burnt out and thus the deterioration of the fuel absorption characteristic is prevented thereby improving the service life of the wick.

    • The present invention provides a ball cock for a railway vehicle which comprises a main body possessing a primary-side opening and a secondary-side opening which face one another and an air exhaust aperture which is formed between these openings. Such ball cock further incudes a ball-shaped valve body which is rotatably provided inside such main body and in which there is formed a communication aperture which connects the primary side opening and the secondary-side opening and a side aperture which, consequent to its rotation, connects the air exhaust aperture and either the primary-side or secondary-side opening. There is formed in the main body's air exhaust aperture a pipe connection to which can be connected a restrictor. In another embodiment an extension pipe is connected to such pipe connection in such air exhaust aperture. Such pipe extension forms a bend portion which causes its opening surface to be positioned lower than a generally horizontal direction when, in accordance with the state in which the main body is fitted to a railway vehicle, its air exhaust aperture is positioned upwardly from such horizontal direction.

If it is required to unload the cassette while there are still unexposed monosheets therein, the protective board is re-inserted into the camera, either through the extraction passage, or through another passage provided specifically for re-insertion of the board, push elements are actuated to move the contents of the cassette slightly rearwards, to permit unhindered entry of the board into the cassette, and the board is then moved into its original position in the cassette, after which the cassette may be unloaded, the monosheets therein remaining unexposed, and available for subsequent use. Actuation of the push elements and re-insertion of the protective board may be effected manually, or by automatically actuated electronic control device.
