    • A gel composition having the formula R1O-[(AO)k(EO)m(AO)n]-R2 comprises (a) 0.1 to 60 mass % of a block-type alkylene oxide derivative, (b) an oil, and (c) 0.1 to 10 mass % of water. AO represents a C3-C4 oxyalkylene group; EO represents an oxyethylene group; k and n represent average addition mole numbers of the oxyalkylene group and m represents average addition mole number of the oxyethylene group, 1≦m≦70 and 1≦k+n≦70. The oxyethylene group is 20 to 80 mass % with respect to the sum of the oxyalkylene group (AO) and the oxyethylene group. R1 and R2 may be identical to or different from one another and are each a C1-C4 hydrocarbon group or a hydrogen atom. The composition has a continuous phase comprising the oil; and the viscosity of the composition at 25° C. is 500 mPa·s or more.

    • An object of the present invention is to provide a gel composition with an excellent gelation ability and an excellent feeling in use. The gel composition comprises (a) 0.1 to 60 mass % of a block-type alkylene oxide derivative, (b) an oil, and (c) 0.1 to 10 mass % of water; the block-type alkylene oxide derivative being represented by the following formula (I): R1O-[(AO)l(EO)m(AO)n]-R2  (I) wherein AO represents an oxyalkylene group having 3 to 4 carbon atoms; EO represents an oxyethylene group; l and n represent average addition mole numbers of the oxyalkylene group and m represents average addition mole number of the oxyethylene group, which are 1≦m≦70 and 1≦l+n≦70; the oxyethylene group is 20 to 80 mass % with respect to the sum of the oxyalkylene group having 3 to 4 carbon atoms and the oxyethylene group; and each of R1 and R2, which may be identical to or different from each other, is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom; wherein the composition has a continuous phase comprising the oil; and the viscosity of the composition at 25° C. is 500 mPa·s or more.

    • The emulsified external skin preparation of the present invention is characterized by comprising a polyglycerol derivative represented by formula (1): wherein, m+2 represents the average polymerization degree of polyglycerol and 1≦m≦4; R1 is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom; AO is an oxyalkylene group having 3 to 4 carbon atoms; and n is the average addition mole number of the oxyalkylene group and 1≦m n≦200. In a water-in-oil type external skin preparation, and especially in that containing a polar oil or a silicone oil, emulsion stability is improved. In an oil-in-water type external skin preparation, feeling in use and emulsion stability are improved. Especially, in an oil-in-water type external skin preparation containing hydrophobized powder, powder dispersion stability is improved as well as feeling in use and emulsion stability.

    • The present invention was made in view of the above-described circumstances, and an object of the invention is to provide an external skin preparation having a rough skin improving effect, excellent in texture in use, especially excellent in smoothness, free of sticky feeling, and excellent in stability. Another object is to provide a skin cleanser excellent especially in usability and a cosmetic removing effect. That is, the external skin preparation of the present invention is characterized by comprising a block-type alkylene oxide derivative represented by the below-described formula (I). [formula 1] Y—[O(EO)a-(AO)b-(EO)c-R]k  (I) (In the formula, Y is the residue given by removing hydroxyl groups from a polyhydric alcohol having 3 to 6 hydroxyl groups, and k is the number of hydroxyl groups of the polyhydric alcohol. EO is an oxyethylene group, AO is an oxyalkylene group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and they are attached in a block-type, respectively. The products, a×k, b×k, and c×k, are the average addition mole numbers of the oxyethylene group, the oxyalkylene group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and the oxyethylene group, respectively, and 0≦a×k≦100, 1≦b×k≦100, and 0≦c×k≦100, however, (a+c)×k>1. The percentage of all oxyethylene groups in formula (I) with respect to the sum of all oxyethylene groups and oxyalkylene groups having 3 to 6 carbon atoms in formula (I) is 10 to 80 mass %. Rs may be either identical to or different from each other, and they are hydrocarbon groups with 1 to 4 carbon atoms.) The skin cleanser of present invention is characterized by comprising 0.01 to 70 mass % of a block-type alkylene oxide derivative represented by the above-described formula (I) and 0.1 to 20 mass % of a moisturizer.
