    • A padlock has a shackle with a short leg and a long leg and a lock body having two partial channels to accommodate the short and long legs. Each of the short and long legs has a bolt groove to receive a bolt. The lock body also has a through channel for placing a spindle having a locking area and an unlocking groove. A plurality of dials and clutches mounted on the spindle control the spindle movement. When the padlock is in the locked mode, the spindle is located within the through channel such that the locking area pushes the bolts against the bolt grooves, preventing the shackle from being pulled upward. When dials match the combination code, the spindle can move upward to allow the bolts to move away from the bolt grooves toward the unlocking groove and the shackle can be pulled upward to unlock the padlock.

    • A dual locking padlock having a code locking mechanism and an overriding mechanism is disclosed. The housing has a spacer as its top portion, a stack of clutches forming a middle portion and a bottom portion having holes to receive screws from the spacer for securing the housing. Dials are rotatably mounted on the clutches for changing the combination code. The housing has a spindle having a channel to store the heel of a shackle. The spindle's upward movement allows the shackle to be pulled upward to unlock the padlock. The spindle is allowed to move upward either when a correct combination code is used or when a key activates the overriding mechanism. With the overriding mechanism, the user can open the padlock with a backup key if the user forgets the combination code, and then reset the dials to a new combination code.

    • A padlock with a dual unlocking system, namely, a key mechanism and a combination mechanism. The key mechanism has a bolt or latch passing through a pole/pole cover secured around a portion of a shackle, the bolt in contact with the shackle so as to prevent movement of the shackle relative to the key mechanism when the key mechanism is in a locked state. The bolt/latch is able to move relative to the shackle to allow the shackle to move relative to the housing and pole so as to release the toe of the shackle from the housing when the key mechanism is in an unlocked state. The combination mechanism allows clutches to move relative to the housing into a lock open position when dials are in an opening combination that allows the pole to move relative to the housing so as to release the toe.
