    • Disclosed herein is a positive resist composition comprising an alkali-soluble phenolic resin and a photosensitive agent, characterized in that the positive resist composition contains, as the photosensitive agent, the quinonediazide sulfonate of at least one of phenolic compounds represented by the following general formulae (I) and (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 through R.sub.4 mean individually a hydrogen or halogen atom, a hyaroxyl group, an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms and may be equal to or different from one another, and R.sub.5 denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, or an aryl group with the proviso that the number of hydroxyl groups is 3 or 4; and ##STR2## wherein R.sub.6 through R.sub.9 mean individually a hydrogen or halogen atom, an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms and may be equal to or different from one another, and R.sub.10 denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, or an aryl group with the proviso that the number of hydroxyl groups is 5 and at least one of R.sub.6 through R.sub.9 is an atom or group other than hydrogen atom. It is suitable for use in minute processing.

    • A constant-speed running controller for maintaining the running speed of a vehicle at a fixed level by regulating the degree of opening of the throttle valve of the vehicle. The constant-speed running controller comprises speed detectors for detecting the running speed of the vehicle, a shift position detecting switch for detecting the shift position of the shift lever, a mode selecting switch for switching the running mode of the vehicle between an automatic speed change control mode and an automatic speed change constant-speed running control mode, a throttle opening degree detector for detecting the degree of opening of the throttle valve, a brake switch for detecting the application of the brake system, a target running speed setting switch, a resume switch for restarting the previously established constant-speed running control mode, a constant-speed running mode selecting switch for selecting the constant-speed running control function, a microcomputer for processing data received from the foregoing switches and detectors and giving control signals to the functional devices for regulating the running speed of the vehicle. An effective target running speed for constant-speed running is determined on the basis of a temporary target running speed, an average running speed obtained by processing sample running speeds sampled in a predetermined time interval, and the difference between the temporary target running speed and the average running speed.

    • An automobile speed control system which is capable of running at a speed which is the same as the desired memorized speed and which will be maintained constant even during momentary voltage interruptions in the system, is comprised of a discharge device such as a diode which is arranged between one end of a grounded capacitor in an integrating circuit and a line which supplies a voltage higher than that of said one end of the capacitor when a voltage power source is normal. When the voltage of the voltage power source drops, the terminal voltage of the capacitor decreases slowly and the electric charge of the capacitor is discharged. When the voltage of the voltage power source rises again, the circuit operates in the same manner as the operation thereof when the power switch is closed and the memorized automobile speed is not changed from the prior memorized speed.

    • Automobile speed control system to maintain actual automobile speed to desired automobile speed, in which a first electrical signal indicating the actual automobile speed is compared with a second electrical signal indicating the desired automobile speed with a comparator circuit to obtain an error signal indicating speed difference between the actual and desired automobile speeds. The error signal is supplied to throttle valve control means to shift the throttle valve into a position at which the actual automobile speed equals to the desired automobile speed. The error signal, through an electrical first order lag circuit, is fed back to the comparator circuit to stabilize speed control operation of the system, whereby the prior art feedback potentiometer, in prior arts linked to the throttle valve to supply negative feedback signal to the comparator circuit is eliminated.

    • A desired automobile speed signal memory circuit for an automobile speed control system to maintain actual automobile speed constant at a desired speed. The memory circuit memorizes an actual automobile speed signal at the moment a desired speed set switch is closed. This memorized automobile speed signal is then used as a reference signal by the automobile speed control system to keep the actual automobile speed constant. The memory circuit has a capacitor which memorizes the desired speed signal, a first FET which forms a memorization loop with the capacitor upon the closure of the desired speed set switch, and a second FET which supplies the memorized desired speed signal on the capacitor in an impedance conversion mode as the reference signal used by the automobile speed control system to maintain constant the speed of the automobile.

    • The idle speed of an engine is controlled in response to a control signal derived from the voltage across a thermistor responsive to the temperature of the engine cooling water. The thermistor voltage level varies exponentially with temperature changes. An engine idle speed control signal generator circuit includes a network of resistors, diodes and a transistor which produces an output control signal whose maximum level is limited to a value corresponding to a desired maximum idle speed, and whose minimum level is maintained above a value corresponding to the minimum desired idling speed. The circuit also adjusts the level of the output control signal to compensate for varying engine loads and faults in the circuit.
