The inventive resins are made self-photoinitiating by their reaction with β-keto esters (e.g., acetoacetates), β-diketones (e.g., 2,4-pentanedione), β-keto amides (e.g., acetoacetanilide, acetoacetamide), and/or other β-dicarbonyl compounds that can participate in the Michael addition reaction as “Michael donors.” These water-dispersible resins cure under standard ultraviolet (UV) cure conditions to give tack-free coatings without the addition of traditional photoinitiators. The present invention further relates to the use of these resins in coatings.

摘要： A device for detecting and locating leaks in pipelines through which a stream of fluid flows under pressure. The device includes an elongate body portion providing support for axially spaced sets of plural radially extending baffles, fore and aft of the stream and of a diameter less than the inside diameter of the pipe to be probed; and an intermediate portion including a differential pressure measuring device and recorder which forms with the inner pipe wall, a chamber normally maintained at the stream pressure as the device is propelled through the pipe at the speed of fluid flow. As the device passes a leak fluid pressure in the chamber is reduced due to the substantial isolating affect of the baffles from the up and down stream pressures with a resultant recording indicative of the leak location, while eliminating the need of totally sealing off the chamber.

摘要： This invention relates to a device that provides controlled release of a fragrant or deodorizing substance: the fragrant or deodorizing substance being solublized with an appropriate carrier solvent within a polymeric matrix. The layers function as protective barriers, semi-permeable membranes, fragrance reservoirs, and adhesives. The device is capable of delivering a fragrance at a controlled rate for a prolonged period of time through the gradual diffusion and release of fragrant material carried by a solvent from a reservoir system to the semi-permeable UV curable, oligomer composition acting a fragrance release regulator. Additionally, the UV curable, oligomeric composition that forms the reservoir and regulating layer can be engineered to be adhesive through cure inhibition. The method of cure inhibition can also be utilized to create internal areas of high and low cross link density to further control the release rate of a fragrance.
