    • The present invention describes a system and method of improving packet forwarding throughput in a router by reducing head of line blocking. In one embodiment of the present invention, incoming packets are stored in a packet reorder buffer. The packets are reordered for forwarding while maintaining the order of packets in a distinct flow. Packets belonging to a distinct flow require to be forwarded in the order that the router receives them. Packets from different flows are reordered such that their forwarding order can be different than the order in which they were received. Packets from the same flow are sent out in the same order as the router receives them.

    • A rapid method and apparatus for remapping the type of service (TOS) and source address information from an incoming communications packet according to the desired Quality of Service (QoS) required for the communications flow into a switch or router are described. The input source address field of the packet header is used to access a lookup table of corresponding source autonomous system (AS) labels. The appropriate AS label is combined with the input TOS yielding an intra-switch TOS optimized for the QoS appropriate to the received flow. Alternatively, the netID, a subset of the source address, may be used directly without resort to a lookup table. As a further alternative, the destination address may be used in conjunction with the above. The resulting intra-switch TOS expedites packet management and throughput in the switch/router, facilitating the efficient delivery of the required Quality of Service for that flow.
或者,可以直接使用netID(源地址的子集),而不需要查找表。 作为另一替代方案,目的地址可以与上述结合使用。 所产生的内部交换机TOS加速了交换机/路由器中的分组管理和吞吐量,有助于为该流量有效地传送所需的服务质量。

    • A screening conveyor (10) for conveying particulate matter, such as comminuted wood fiber, in a forward direction while also screening to separate particles over a predetermined size from small particles under a predetermined size. The screening conveyor includes a frame (17, 50) and first and second conveyor bed sections (16, 30) supported by the frame. Each conveyor bed section defines a longitudinal axis and an upper surface (22) formed from a tiled series of trough shaped trays (20). Each tray defines a step including an ascending surface portion (96). The first and second conveyor bed sections are reciprocated in opposing balanced fashion along the longitudinal axis by a motor (48), cam assembly (54) and connecting rods (64, 66). The received particulate matter is carried on the stepped upper surfaces of the reciprocating conveyor bed and thrown forwardly from tray to tray. The upper surfaces further each define a plurality of apertures of predetermined size. Particulate matter is screened through first screening apertures (34) in the first conveyor bed section, with material below a predetermined size falling onto the second conveyor bed section. Material over the first predetermined size is supplied to a recycle conveyor (38) for further comminuting. Material passing through the first screening apertures falls onto the second conveyor bed section, and is further screened through second screening apertures (42) of a second predetermined size. Fine particles pass through the second screening apertures, and acceptable product is discharged from the discharge end (32) of the second conveyor bed section.

    • A system and method for identifying and processing individual patients among a set of patients includes storing position data representative of patient-unique arrangements of targets that are affixed to the patients for aligning a therapeutic radiation beam. Subsequent to the recording of the position data, a particular patient and/or the medical information of the particular patient can be identified by reimaging the targets or substitute targets on the particular patient to detect a correlation between the image data and the stored position data. The correlation may be used to register a patient, track the location of the patient within a multi-station facility, or facilitate treatment setup, such as beam-to-patient alignment, radiation configuration, and beam control.
