摘要： A treatment planning method and system for determining a treatment plan used to irradiate a treatment volume using a radiation treatment system that includes a multi-leaf collimator (MLC), is disclosed. The treatment plan includes settings for leaf patterns of individual leaves of the MLC, each leaf pattern including a geometry of the individual leaves and forming an aperture for use in the treatment plan. Areas of radiation leakage are identified in each of the leaf patterns, the areas of radiation leakage including first unshielded areas corresponding to gaps that are located between adjacent leaves and outside of the aperture. At least one leakage metric is calculated based on the areas of radiation leakage. A setting for at least one of the leaf patterns can be adjusted based on the at least one leakage metric.

摘要： A control circuit forms a radiation therapy treatment plan by automatically generating a base dose that references dosing information from multiple sources and then using that base dose to optimize a radiation therapy treatment plan. That radiation therapy treatment plan is then used to administer radiation therapy to a patient. That automatically generated base dose can represent any or all of earlier radiation therapy treatments for the patient, a same fraction as a dose presently being optimized per the radiation therapy treatment plan, and future planned fractions for the patient.

摘要： A system for visualizing and modifying the thickness of a compensator for radiation therapy in the context of a desired target and dose coverage thereof includes planar slice image generation module, a visualization unit and an adjustment module. The planar slice image generation module generates a series of planar slice images from a patient image data set disposed with one axis parallel to a radiation beam and one axis perpendicular to the radiation beam. The visualization unit graphically depicts a compensator thickness profile, a target of interest, and/or a dose representation on at least one of the series of planar slice images all in the same plane lying in a beam's longitudinal direction. The adjustment module receives user input of an adjustment of at least one compensator thickness value via a manipulation of the graphical depiction thereof.
