The vehicle seat comprises a backrest which includes a middle part and at least one side bolster, a gas bag module with a folded gas bag, which is at least partly arranged in the side bolster, an adjusting element for adjusting a width of the backrest, which is at least partly arranged in the side bolster and is movable relative to the middle part, by means of which the position of the side bolster relative to the middle part can be varied, and ascot frame extending in the side bolster, which in the vehicle seat mounted in the motor vehicle is aligned along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. At least part of the folded gas bag is arranged before the seat frame with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.

摘要： An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraining system including at least one inflatable airbag and an inflating device. The airbag includes a first inflatable area which extends in the inflated status of the airbag in the area of a first body region of the vehicle occupant, and a second inflatable area, which extends in the inflated status of the airbag in the area of a second body region of the vehicle occupant. The first inflatable area has a larger thickness vertical to the main extension plane of the airbag than the second inflatable area. The inflating device and the airbag are designed for inflating the first inflatable area of the airbag to such a high internal pressure that during the impact of the occupant on the airbag a force is exerted onto the first body region of the vehicle occupant which sets the occupant into a tilting motion.

The airbag comprising at least one first and one second layer of an airbag material, at least one inflatable chamber formed between the first and the second layer, which is inflatable for the protection of a vehicle occupant and at least one seam, by which the first and the second layer are connected with each other along at least a portion of their respective circumference. The airbag is deployed between a vehicle occupant and a vehicle side structure. The airbag is formed such that when the airbag is mounted in the vehicle and inflated, the seam extends along a plane which is oriented obliquely or transversely to a plane formed by the longitudinal and the height direction of the vehicle.
