摘要： A device for dispensing individual components of a two-component adhesive includes first and second manifold members, each having a distribution chamber therein. A set of conveying tubes is supported within the dispensing device and collectively present a predetermined total cross-sectional flow area to the first distribution chamber. The second manifold member has an array of passages therethrough. Each tube extends substantially concentrically through a respective passage to define annular flow spaces that collectively present a predetermined total cross-sectional flow area to the second distribution chamber member. First and second components emanating from the tubes and the flow spaces are able to intermix with and diffuse into each other on the discharge area of the second manifold member. The cross-sectional flow areas presented to the first and second distribution chambers are equal.

The conveying plate and the opposed cover plates cooperate to define a plurality of separated channels extending through the mixing device. The discharge ends of the channels are interdigitated. First and a second distribution manifolds are defined within the mixing device. A supply port adapted to receive one adhesive component extends through a respective cover plate into fluid communication with one of the distribution manifolds.

摘要： A seal-less, hand-held dispensing device for dispensing microliter quantities of a material at a site of a slice wound the edges of which are spaced apart a distance in the range from at least about 0.4 mm to about 0.5 mm comprises: a support platform; first and second hollow members on the platform; and a compatibly sized plunger disposed in each hollow member. Each hollow member has a predetermined maximum outside dimension that is not greater than about 0.4 mm such that both of the hollow members are insertable into a space between the edges of a slice wound without undue disruption of any tissue matter surrounding the site. The largest outside dimension of each compatibly sized plunger being in a range from about eighty percent (80%) to about ninety-five percent (95%) of the largest inside diameter of a hollow member in which it is disposed.

This microfluidic device is suitable for chromatographic and electrophoretic separations in which the detection of the components in the fluid is by means of ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy. The device further comprises at least one cooling channel adjacent the separation channel, said cooling channel conducting a cooling fluid through the device for removing heat from the the separation channel. At least one section of the separation channel has an increased cross-sectional dimension with respect to other sections of said channel to provide an increased optical path length when the device is used in an ultraviolet detection arrangement.
