    • A tank handling and protection apparatus is particularly suitable for handling tanks carrying liquid additives for oil field servicing operations on offshore vessels. The apparatus includes a frame base and first and second mounting racks attached to the frame base each of those mounting racks having a full-size tank base location defined thereon. Releasable connecting devices are provided for releasably connecting at least one tank to each mounting rack. A protective cage is I0 attached to the frame base and surrounds the tank locations. The protective cage includes removable side walls which allow the tanks to be placed on the frame base with a forklift or the like. The protective cage also has top openings which allow the tanks to be placed on the mounting racks with a sling and crane lifting them through the top openings. The apparatus itself may also be handled with either the forklift or crane and sling. The tank handling and protection apparatus provides a fully certifiable transportable container for the tanks which allows easy access to and use of the tanks while they remain in the protective enclosure.

    • The present invention provides a hatch apparatus comprising: (a) a non-metallic base having a base flange which is connectable to a container flange by bolting and (b) a non-metallic lid which is threadedly connectable to the non-metallic base. The inventive hatch apparatus can also include a pressure relief device associatable with the non-metallic lid. In one embodiment, the non-metallic lid comprises a single lid member. In a second embodiment, the non-metallic lid comprises two lid members. The inventive hatch apparatus is highly corrosion resistant and convenient to use.

    • A self-leveling mixer apparatus includes a base and a generally downwardly tapered movable mixing tub supported from the base in a manner such that the tub is movable between first and second positions relative to the base. A leveling valve is provided for controlling a level of fluid in the movable mixing tub. A connector linkage operably associated with the tub and the leveling valve is connected therebetween for adjusting the leveling valve in response to movement of the mixing tub relative to the base. The tub preferably has a generally oval shaped upper end and a generally circular shaped lower end and is constantly tapered therebetween. A tub orientation control linkage is provided to prevent tilting of the tub as it moves between its upper and lower positions.

    • A self-leveling mixing apparatus includes a transportable skid frame. A mixing tub is supported from the frame in a manner such that the tube is movable between first and second positions relative to the frame. The tube has a tub fluid outlet defined in a lower portion thereof. A suction conduit is supported from the skid frame for transport therewith and includes a manifold inlet, a manifold outlet, and a tub outlet conduit portion located upstream of the manifold outlet and connected to the tub fluid outlet. A leveling valve is also included and is disposed in the suction conduit upstream of the manifold outlet for controlling a level of fluid in the tub.     • A method of forming a tank system and a tank system formed thereby wherein the tank system comprises a plastic tank covered by a metal shell.
