    • Fall protection for personnel servicing an elevated work area from a man lift. A bridge is pivotally mounted to a working edge of the man lift. The bridge pivots between a stored position and a substantially horizontal operative position. The bridge has a pivotally mounted edge, a remote edge opposite to the pivotally mounted edge and opposed sides. An expandable enclosure is anchored to the man lift. The enclosure is movable between a collapsed position and an expanded position. In the collapsed position, the enclosure is collapsed parallel to and provides fall protection along the working edge of the man lift. In the expanded position, the enclosure provides fall protection for the opposed sides of the bridge in the operative position and provides fall protection in the work area by enclosing a portion of the work area beyond the remote edge of the bridge.

    • An improved safety collar (10) for a manway system (24) provides a tapered component for guiding the collar into an aperture of a manway lid (28), thus preventing the collar from snagging an edge of the aperture and holding the lid in an open position. The safety collar is defined by an annular wall with a smooth outer surface (12) and a threaded inner surface (14). A chamfered rim (16) of the collar presents an annular sloping surface (18) generally sloping inwardly and upwardly from the outer surface to the inner surface. When the collar is threaded onto a bolt (66) of the bolt assembly, the chamfered rim (16) of the collar guides the collar into an aperture (58) of the manway lid, such as when the lid is lowered into position against a base (26) of the manway system.

More specifically, the present invention relates to a template that may be lowered over the bonnet of the railcar wherein the template has a plurality of differently sized holes to allow access to specially-sized nozzles. In addition, the valves may be eduction valves and/or vapor valves, and the apertures may allow a specific-sized nozzle to have access to the eduction valves, the vapor valves or both. The template may lower onto the bonnet via a frame that may be rotatably attached to a structure. Further, joints and bearings may be provided to allow the template to be movable so as to precisely fit over the bonnet of the railcar.
