摘要： A scraper chain conveyor includes a driven chain having links constructed from material that is round in cross section. Flight attachments are pulled by the chain along a conveyor channel that includes at least two channel sections that are pivotally connected together in an end-to-end relation for angular positioning of one of the sections with respect to the other. The channel section, extending downstream of the pivotal connection with respect to the conveying direction, has a downwardly sloping portion commencing from a transverse plane immediately adjacent the pivotal interconnection. The other conveyor section has top guides extending over it along its opposite sides. Each of these guides has one of their terminal ends lying in a transverse plane adjacent to and upstream of the pivotal interconnection between the conveyor sections. The chain intersects the two transverse planes at points and passes between them along an arcuate path, the maximum height of which from a subtending cord through the points of intersection is smaller than one-half the length of a given one of the flight attachments.

摘要： A smooth surface applicator roll dips into glue in a vat and applies the glue to the crests of the corrugations of a corrugated paper web traveling around a support roll above the vat. A doctor roll is located beside the applicator roll above the glue level in the vat and is pressed against the side of the applicator roll that carries glue upwardly. The doctor roll is rotated in the same direction as the applicator roll to remove glue from it. The doctor roll is provided with grooves extending around it so that laterally spaced strips of glue are left on the applicator roll between the areas of the latter from which glue is removed by the doctor roll. As a result, longitudinally spaced areas of glue are applied to the crest of each paper corrugation by the smooth surface applicator roll.

摘要： A coal plow includes a guide beam that is movable lengthwise along a coal face and that has a mining side and a conveyor side. Projecting horizontally from the mining side of the beam is an axle, on which a supporting member is mounted for rocking movement parallel to the beam. The degree of rocking is limited by means carried by the beam. At opposite ends of the supporting member there are blade carriers hinged thereto on axes diverging downwardly. Mounted on the lower end of each carrier is a bottom plow blade, while secured to the same carrier is a plurality of plow blades disposed in an inclined row that extends upwardly from the bottom blade. The blades are in positions to swing with their carrier away from the guide beam.
