    • A method is provided for coating a surface of an Fe-based, hardenable sintered, sinter-forged or forged component, and in particular for internally coating the large end bore of a motor vehicle connecting rod with a bearing coating, wherein the coating material applied to the component surface is converted to a molten state during the coating process.
