    • In a disk brake for a vehicle, an electric motor is attached to a caliper body so as to exhibit a power for urging a friction pad toward a disk rotor. The electric motor includes a brush holder for holding brushes which contact a commutator at positions at even distances in a circumferential direction of an armature. Internal feed terminals are disposed in the brush holder so as to provide connection between the brushes and feed wires respectively leading to the brushes. A rotational angle detecting sensor is disposed in the brush holder so as to detect a rotational angle of the electric motor. The rotational angle detecting sensor is disposed in the brush holder on a side opposite from the internal feed terminals with respect to the armature. Thus, it is possible to improve assemblability of the rotational angle detecting sensor to the brush holder, and facilitate operation of connecting the feed wires to the brush holder.

A brake piston driven by the electric motor is slidably fitted to a caliper body. A detected portion to be detected by the rotation angle detection sensor housed and placed in the motor housing is provided on the output shaft in the motor housing. Thus, the rotation angle detection sensor can be provided without any special waterproof seal and with a reduced number of components.

    • A method of effecting feedback control of the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture being supplied to an internal combustion engine, by correcting a basic fuel supply quantity by the use of a coefficient variable in value in response to the output of an exhaust gas ingredient concentration detecting means, while the engine is operating in a predetermined air-fuel ratio feedback control effecting region. The predetermined air-fuel ratio feedback control effecting region is previously divided into at least first and second subdivided regions. A first mean value of the coefficient is calculated and stored when the engine is operating in the first subdivided region, and a second mean value of same when the engine is operating in the second subdivided region, respectively. The first mean value is used as an initial value of the coefficient, when the engine operation has entered the first subdivided region, and the second mean value when it has entered the second subdivided region, respectively.

    • A fuel supply control method for electronically controlling the quantity of fuel being supplied to an internal combustion engine in synchronism with generation of pulses of a predetermined control signal, in response to a fuel increment gradually decreasing in value after termination of cranking of the engine. Immediately when the engine leaves a cranking state, an initial value of the fuel increment is set, which corresponds to a product obtained by multiplying the value of a fuel increasing coefficient decreasing in value as the engine temperature increases by the value of a coefficient being a function of the engine temperature. Subsequently, the thus set initial value of the fuel increment is decreased upon generation of each pulse of the above predetermined control signal until the thus decreased incremental value becomes equal to a value at which no substantial increase takes place in the fuel quantity being supplied to the engine.
