摘要： An injection molding machine includes a screw unit provided with a drive and mounted through a carrier on a base frame. The screw unit can be connected to a tool clamping plate in a frictionally engaging manner. The carrier includes a carriage which can be moved on the base frame by at least one moving unit fastened on the tool clamping plate. The carriage has a front carriage portion with at least one recess provided in the front carriage portion. A yoke provided at the opening side of the housing part can be placed in a positively engaging manner into the recess. The rear housing part of the plasticizing unit is connectable through support and centering elements to an undercarriage which is slidable on the base frame.

摘要： A method of sealably encapsulating an article by using, in combination, a plastics heating and pressurizing device and a manually portable accumulator. The device has a chamber to contain plastics material and heat it into a molten state. There is a releasable coupling means to assemble the device and container together to interconnect the chamber with a reservoir inside the accumulator for transfer of the molten plastic material into the reservoir. The accumulator has means for forcing the molten material from the reservoir into a mold cavity when the accumulator has been manually transferred from the device to a mold.

摘要： An injection apparatus for plastics materials containing glass reinforcing fibers includes a fixed sheath 5, a movable sheath 7 slidably disposed within the fixed sheath, a mixing screw 9 rotatable within the movable sheath, a pressurized supply hopper or funnel 8 for feeding material to the mixing and conveying screw, and a piston/cylinder unit 14-16 for advancing the movable sheath and screw to inject a charge of plastics material within a chamber 26 to a mold M. The supply funnel is coupled to the movable sheath and includes a compression plate 35 controlled by a jack 38 mounted on a sliding plate 39, whereby the compression plate may be retracted into abutment with the sliding plate and laterally withdrawn to enable the reloading of the supply funnel. The mixing screw may be slightly retracted from the movable sheath to form a passage 25 for the plastics material to minimize the shearing of the fibers therein during mixing and conveyance, and the entire apparatus may be separated from the mold by a jack V to avoid undesired thermal transfers between the mold and the injection material.

摘要： A cylinder head for a reciprocating screw injection molding machine characterized in that it has an integral spreader which transforms a solid cylindrical body of plasticized material into a plurality of streams of progressively decreasing cross-section area which converge to the nozzle orifice, said spreader being hollow and containing a spring which biases a pressure-actuated valve member into engagement with a valve seat around the nozzle orifice located close to the tip of the nozzle whereby, after a short delay following the filling of the mold with plasticized material by stroking of the screw in the injection cylinder, the material freezes in the nozzle orifice so as to constitute a short length and small diameter extension of the mold sprue which is withdrawn from the nozzle orifice when the cylinder and nozzle are retracted away from the mold. The interior of the spreader is communicated with the atmosphere whereby the valve member is automatically opened at desired pressure of the plasticized material acting thereon when the screw is operated as a plunger to inject plastic material into the mold contacted by the nozzle and is automatically closed upon decrease in actuating force on the screw (and resulting decompression of the material in the cylinder) after the mold is filled with plastic material, said valve member remaining in closed position when the nozzle is out of engagement with the mold and during rotation and retraction of the screw.

摘要： A reciprocating screw type injection molding machine having an injection assembly in which the feed screw is rotated and reciprocated in a heating cylinder by means of coaxially disposed linear and rotary hydraulic actuators respectively comprising an actuating cylinder having its piston in axial thrust and rotary driving engagement with the feed screw, and a fixed rotary actuator housing having its rotor axially slidably splined to said piston. The injection assembly has limited axial travel with respect to the rotary actuator housing to move the spring-closed nozzle of the heating cylinder into and out of engagement with the mold, said nozzle being opened when engaged with the mold upon admission of fluid pressure into the actuator cylinder between one side of said housing and said piston, and being closed when disengaged from the mold upon admission of fluid pressure into the actuating cylinder on the other side of said housing to initiate rotation of said rotor and feed screw. The limited axial travel aforesaid is provided by interengageable positive stops on the actuator cylinder and rotary actuator housing to determine the extent of movement of the heating cylinder and nozzle away from and toward the mold respectively to permit closing of the spring biased nozzle and to prevent jamming of the nozzle against the mold except by the spring bias acting thereon and by the pressure drop across the nozzle as the plasticized material is flowing therethrough into the mold. The machine herein is yet further characterized in that the injection assembly optionally may be mounted in a vertical position or in a horizontal position or if desired both horizontal and vertical injection assemblies may be provided for sequential injection of plasticized material of different colors or compositions into the mold.
