    • A masonry wall is formed of masonry block units abutted with one another in series within stacked rows. Each masonry block unit is a concrete body having two opposing exterior side walls defining respective portions of the assembly masonry wall. Vertical reinforcement channels are formed in the exterior side walls of each masonry block unit so as to be open laterally to the exterior. The reinforcement channels align with corresponding channels in the masonry block units in adjacent stacked rows to receive elongate reinforcement members, for example rebar, inserted laterally therein from the exterior surface of the assembly masonry wall. A bonding material can then be recessed laterally into the reinforcement channels so as to bond the reinforcement members to the masonry assembly.

    • In one embodiment, a masonry spacer has (i) an elongated and substantially planar body, and (ii) first and second elongated support members. The planar body has one or more bendable tabs formed therein and defines a first plane of the masonry spacer. The first and second support members each (i) have at least one corresponding channel formed therein, (ii) have one or more openings formed therein, and (iii) extend laterally from a different elongated side of the planar body. Further, the first and second support members define a second plane of the masonry spacer offset from the first plane. An outer edge of each of the first and second elongated support members defines a third plane of the masonry spacer that is intermediate to the first and second planes.

    • The invention relates to a method to reduce the width of cracks that may be induced in masonry. The reinforcement strips comprise at least two straight, substantially parallel reinforcement wires connected to each other by means of a wire connecting structure. The reinforcement wires have a design yield strength fyd equal or higher than 550/γs N/mm2 and an equivalent diameter d equal or lower than 4 mm. The reinforcement strips have a resistance F against loads applied on said reinforcement strip and a design value of resistance Fd. The reinforcement strip embedded in said joint has a bond capacity Fbok and a design bond capacity Fbod. The design yield strength fyd and the diameter d of said reinforcement wires are chosen so that the design value Fd of the reinforcement strip is equal or lower than the design bond capacity Fbod of the reinforcement strip.
