    • A vehicle suspension mechanism including a carrier for carrying a rear wheel rotatably about an axis of rotation, a strut assembly having an upper end connected with a vehicle body and a lower end connected with the carrier, a swingable arm pivotably connected through resilient rubber bushes with the vehicle body at a longitudinally spaced first forward point and a first rearward point and with the carrier at a longitudinally spaced second forward point and a second rearward point. The aforementioned points are arranged so that the distance between the line connecting the first forward and first rearward points and the line connecting the second forward and second rearward points increases toward the rearward direction, whereby a toe-in movement is produced when the arm is upwardly swung.

    • An independent wheel suspension for non-steered wheels of motor vehicles, in which a wheel support rigidly connected to a shock absorber is connected to the body or chassis by a transverse control arm and a longitudinal strut. The wheel support is connected to the outer bifurcated end of the transverse control arm by a pin which extends generally in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is mounted in resilient bushings. The wheel support is also pivotably connected to the trailing end of the longitudinal arm by resilient bushings. To compensate for changes in toe angle as a result of compression and rebound movement, the resilient bushings at opposite ends of the pin connecting the transverse control arm to the wheel support are provided with non-uniform outer sleeves and non-uniform inner sleeves arranged in a specific relationship with the front bushing mounted upside down relative to the rear bushing.

    • A wheel suspension arrangement is provided for supporting and guiding a rear wheel and wheel carrier of a motor vehicle. More specifically, a lower wheel guide linkage is provided which includes a rear guide rod arm formed as a leaf spring which extends transversely of the vehicle from the wheel carrier to a pivot bearing support at the vehicle body. A front guide rod arm assembly is also provided which includes a longitudinal strut member extending from the wheel carrier forwardly. The forward end of the longitudinal strut member is elastically supported on a bearing rotating shaft by way of an elastic bushing interposed between a sleeve of the longitudinal strut member and the rotating bearing shaft. The rotating bearing shaft is in turn connected to the vehicle body by way of a bearing, which also permits limited movement thereof about a vertical axis. In order to accommodate relative angular movement of the longitudinal strut member and the rotating bearing shaft, a vertically extending pivot pin interconnects these members. In order to lend different elastic yieldingness to the hinged connection between the longitudinal strut member and the bearing rotating shaft, portions of the elastic material of the elastic bushing are cutaway at the horizontal sides.
