    • A PGA IC socket, in which socket contacts are arranged at high density, and that performs positioning of an IC package without inhibiting the high density arrangement of the socket contacts. The PGA type IC socket contains a large number of socket contacts for contacting a large number of lead pins of an electrical device; a socket housing, in which a large number of cavities for housing the socket contacts are arranged in a matrix; and a drive portion for moving the lead pins. Each of the socket contacts has a pair of narrowly spaced resilient contact portions for contacting a lead pin. Cutouts, which are open toward the electrical device, are formed in walls of the cavities, such that cavities which are adjacent in the direction perpendicular to the lead pins are in communication with each other.

    • An IC socket includes an insulative housing having an IC package receiving recess, in which an IC package is received. Contacts are disposed within cavities, which are provided in the IC package receiving recess in a matrix arrangement. Each contact includes a base which is installed into a cavity, an upwardly extending contact arm, which is offset above a cavity and a downwardly extending terminal portion, for electrically connecting with a circuit board. The insulative housing includes first partition walls which are provided between rows of cavities adjacent to each other in the first direction and second partition walls which are provided between rows of cavities adjacent to each other in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the first partition walls having greater heights than those of the second partition walls.

    • A card connector comprises a contact housing, a frame attached thereto configured to guide a card during insertion and removal, a pivoting arm pivotally disposed on the housing to eject the card, and an ejection mechanism disposed on the side of the frame configured to pivot the pivoting arm. The ejection mechanism comprises a first bar which has a button on one end and an engaging arm on the other end, a second bar which has a first engaging part on one end that selectively engages the engaging arm when the card is to be ejected and a second engaging part on the other end that engages with the pivoting arm, a cover supporting the first bar and second bar and allowing the bars to move in the forward-rearward direction, and forcing means that force the first bar rearward. The first bar and second bar are aligned with one another along a side wall of the frame. A locking projection on the frame engages the engaging arm preventing rearward retraction of the first bar. The locking projection has a tapered surface flexing the engaging arm outward with respect to the frame when the first bar is locked, permitting passage of the first engaging part of the second bar. A tapered part on the cover flexes the engaging arm upward when the first bar is released. A guide disposed on the second bar has a side edge that is engaged by the engaging arm when the first bar is released.

    • The present invention provides a connector shutter which makes it possible to reduce the space between the connector and the shutters. The connector shutters are installed in the housing of an electronic device so that the mating recesses of the connector are opened and closed by these connector shutters. These connector shutters are caused to pivot as a result of the tip ends of the connector shutters being contacted by the guide parts of the mating connector, so that the mating recesses of the connector are opened. The pivoting shafts of the connector shutters are disposed facing the end surfaces and of the connector at both ends of the connector with respect to the lengthwise direction, and the contact parts of the tip ends of the shutters that are contacted by the guide parts include protruding parts that protrude further than the other portions of these tip ends.

    • The present invention provides an IC socket contact in which the elasticity of a resilient arm, the stability within a housing and the flexibility of a terminal section are ensured with minimized inductance. An IC socket contact has a resilient arm that comes into contact with a contact section of an IC package, a mounting section that is fixed to a housing in which the IC package is placed, and a terminal section that is soldered to a substrate on which the housing is placed. The resilient arm and the terminal section are continuous in a vertical direction. The mounting section is bent back 180° to the back side from a connecting wall of an intermediate section between the resilient arm and the terminal section and extends in a vertical direction.

The plurality of second contacts (13) are constructed from contact members (14 and 15), and a conductive member (17) which electrically connect the contact members (14 and 15) on the rear part of the housing (6). Tines (15g) are formed on the lower ends of the contact members (15). The first contacts (12) are attached from the rear part of the housing (6), and the contact members (14 and 15) of the second contacts (13) are attached from the front part of the housing (6).
