摘要： A softener composition comprises (a) 7 to 30 wt. % of a neutralization product with an inorganic or organic acid having not more than 6 carbon atoms of one selected from the group consisting of (a-1) an amine compound having 2 or 3 hydrocarbon groups each having 11 to 22 carbon atoms in its molecule and (a-2) an ion complex compound formed from 1 mole of a polyamide having a hydrocarbon group having 11 to 22 carbon atoms and 2 to 5 nitrogen atoms and 1 mole of an aliphatic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms and (b) 0.2 to 5 wt. % of one or more polyethers, each being an adduct of an alkylene oxide including ethylene oxide to a compound having 3 or more active hydrogens, which contains 50 wt. % or more of the polyoxyethylene units, having a molecular weight of 5,000 to 2,000,000. It is of the concentrated type and provides clothing with an improved softness and anti-static property.

摘要： The invention relates to a method of producing a mixture of a quaternary ammonium compound, fatty acid, fatty acid ester and tertiary amine salt in situ which is a highly functional mixture that is manufactured in a single step reaction whereby quaternization is completed without the aid of solvents, especially flammable solvents. The single step reaction process eliminates separate blending of individual components. The compositions obtained can be used as fabric softeners, in modified clays, as hair treating compounds and as disinfectants.

In one embodiment the composition comprises a cleaning active, a quaternary ammonium compound, and an organic counterion. In another embodiment, the viscoelastic quality of the composition is advantageously utilized as a drain opener which rapidly penetrates standing water with minimal dilution to deliver active to the clog material.

摘要： Granular detergent compositions with through-the-wash fabric softening properties are prepared from conventional detergent ingredients, clay fabric softeners, and microfine particles of a complex of long-chain amine and fatty acid. The amine fatty acid complex provides fabric softening performance in the compositions when fabrics washed therein are dried. Importantly, the drying operation can be simple line-drying and machine drying is not required to secure the benefits of the invention, although machine drying may be used, if desired.
