    • It is an object of the present invention to provide an adhesive composition which is moisture-curable, has excellent adhesive properties and resistance to moist heat, and exhibits excellent durability even when used for joining materials having different coefficients of linear expansion. The present invention provides an adhesive composition having: a reactive silicon-containing group-bearing compound (A) which includes a compound (c) formed by reacting a silane coupling agent (a) having a reactive silicon-containing group and a functional group with a compound (b) having at least one reactive group to react with the functional group and at least one aromatic ring, wherein the reactive silicon-containing group-bearing compound (A) has a number-average molecular weight per reactive silicon-containing group of 800 or less.

    • The present invention relates to an epoxy modified polysiloxane composition obtainable by combining the following ingredients:—a polysiloxane of formula (1), wherein each R1 is independently selected from hydroxy, alkyl, aryl or alkoxy radicals having up to six carbon atoms, each R2 is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl or aryl radicals having up to six carbon atoms and, wherein n is selected so that the molecular weight for the polysiloxane is in the range of from about 400 to 10,000; with formula (1)—an epoxy resin having more than one 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule with an epoxy equivalent weight in the range of from 100 to about 5,000; and—an amino hardener component having active hydrogens able to react with epoxy groups in the epoxy resin to form polymers containing hydroxyl groups, which are able to react with the silanol groups of hydrolyzed polysiloxane to form a polymer network, wherein the epoxy chain polymers and polysiloxane polymers polymerize to form a cured epoxy modified polysiloxane polymer composition.

    • One aspect of the current invention is a halogen containing epoxy composition and a method of producing the same. A functional halogen group, fluorine in one case, is incorporated into an epoxy coating by using a functionalized amine curing agent in small amounts. Functionalized amine curing agents are cheaper and easier to produce from small amine precursors when compared to the cost and complexity of functionalizing bulky epoxy resins. Amine curing agents are incorporated into a cured epoxy network. However, many functional groups will affect the reactivity of the curing reaction due to electronegativity effects. By using small amounts of functionalized amines with a large amount of non-functionalized agent, the effect is small and in the case of migration, it can be advantageous for tribological, mechanical and other properties of epoxies and epoxy-containing materials. Additionally, in stratified coatings, it is advantageous to use smaller functionalized amine molecules that can migrate more quickly into the composition before the composition becomes fully cured.

    • The present invention is directed to a low-friction coating composition, comprising: about 10 to about 30 wt % of an epoxy resin composition consisting essentially of 4-glycidyloxy-N,N′-diglycidylaniline; about 30 to about 60 wt % of an epoxide resin composition consisting essentially of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether polymer; and about 20 to about 40 wt % of an aromatic amine composition consisting essentially of 4,4′-sulfonyldianiline; wherein all weight percents are based on the total weight of the low-friction coating composition, and wherein the low-friction coating composition is substantially free of chromate. The invention is also directed to a substrate coated with the above low-friction coating composition, and methods of coating a substrate with the low-friction coating composition.
