摘要： A method of editing an image with the aid of a computer while watching moving image information displayed on a screen includes a step of selecting still images representing a plurality of video scenes or a plurality of video cuts constituting the moving image information, a step of determining a hierarchical structure among a plurality of scenes and a plurality of cuts represented by still images, a step of designating static images related to an optional hierarchical structure portion in the hierarchical structure, and a step of displaying the hierarchical portion including designated still images on a screen with such an arrangement that shows the hierarchical structure. An apparatus for editing a moving image for editing an image with the aid of a computer while watching moving image information displayed on a screen includes a recording apparatus for recording moving image information, a change point detection segment for comparing adjacent frame images with each other, and recognizing that, when information is changed exceeding a predetermined quantity between adjacent frame images, the adjacent frame images are frame images belonging to different cuts, reduced images obtained from frame images constituting respective cuts and information for identifying the cuts being recorded in the recording apparatus, a control segment for generating information for identifying scene images by putting a plurality of predetermined cuts together as scene images, generating information for identifying a motion picture by collecting a plurality of predetermined scenes as a motion picture, and determining a hierarchical structure among the scenes and cuts represented by said reduced images in accordance with the selection of reduced images representing a plurality of video scenes or a plurality of video cuts constituting moving image information, a designation segment for designating reduced images related to a predetermined hierarchical structure portion in the hierarchical structure, and a display monitor for showing a hierarchical portion including designated reduced images with such an arrangement as to show the hierarchical structure.

摘要： A motion picture image editing method and in particular, a method for detecting such camera works as zooming and panning motions from a motion picture image stored in video tape or the like. In this method, a motion picture image constituted by a plurality of consecutive picture images on every frame basis, and on time series basis and on the basis of a correlation value for a displacement between the frames at a typical point determined for each of small blocks constituting the motion picture image, a motion vector for each of the small blocks is detected. Then a first motion parameter for estimation of a motion of a camera is generated with use of the motion vector detected at corresponding one of the typical points of first one of the frames. Or the first motion parameter for estimation of the motion of the camera is generated with use of a combination of the motion vector and a position vector at corresponding one of the typical points of a second frame inputted previous by one frame to the first frame. Further, the first motion parameters for the respective frames are found, the found first motion parameters are integrated until an integrated value exceeds a predetermined allowable value, and the integrated value is averaged through an integration period to calculate a second motion parameter for determination of the camera motion for the integration period. Finally, the camera motion is detected on the basis of the second motion parameter.

摘要： In a mark detecting system using an image pickup device such as a TV camera in which a mark in the form of a regressive reflector is provided on an object, the field of view of the image pickup device is illuminated with light of a specified wavelength from an illuminating device placed in the vicinity of the image pickup device. The reflected light is introduced on the image pickup device through a filter capable of cutting off light having wavelengths other than the specified wavelength. Since the mark forms a bright pattern on an image produced within the field of view of the image pickup device, the position of the mark can be easily detected by means of a data processor which processes image signals.
