    • A theft deterrent enclosure that eliminates unauthorized access is disclosed. The enclosure includes a door assembly having three sides and a wrapper assembly having three sides that mate to form a lockable enclosure. A key lock cylinder is mounted in a lock opening of the door assembly such that it blocks the lock opening in a locked position. A keyed interface operates a fastener, such as a compression latch, threaded coupling or lock plate, which is mounted on the door assembly such that the fastener secures the door assembly and the wrapper assembly in a closed position. The keyed interface is positioned on an interior side of the enclosure that is opposite and aligned with the lock opening. A guide sleeve is positioned inside the enclosure that guides a security keyed tool inserted through the lock opening toward the keyed interface. The theft deterrent enclosure can only be opened from a locked position by engaging the key lock cylinder with a key, removing the key lock cylinder tumbler, inserting the security keyed tool adapted to engage the keyed interface through the lock opening and disengaging the fastener.

    • A locking system comprising a locking fastener having tamper-resistant features, and a special key having a bit at one end for engaging a socket in the head of the locking fastener to rotate the latter. The internal configuration of the socket corresponds to an external configuration of the bit, and the corresponding contour of the socket prevents the fastener from being turned by tools other than the special key. The fastener may have left-handed threads on its shaft and its head may be recessed in a counterbore in a closure part to prevent gripping tools from gripping an external surface of the head. The configurations of both the socket and the key may readily be made by economical metal working techniques.

    • A pop-up handle assembly having a base with a mounting panel and a tubular housing and a handle with a tubular stem axially movable within a hollow sleeve rotatable within the tubular housing. The handle mounts a key-plug which is depressable to release a lock pin carried by the tubular stem from engagement with a shoulder in the tubular housing whereby the handle pops-up to an operative position under the urging of a spring. The key-plug is rotatable between locked and unlocked positions and into an unlocked position can be depressed to release the handle for movement without the use of a key. The handle assembly has provision for pop-up of the handle from the inner side thereof to free the handle for rotation regardless of whether the key-plug is either locked or unlocked.

    • A gate locking system for securely locking a rolling type gate in a closed position within an opposing pair of U-shaped channel guide rails. The guide rails include aligned apertures formed through opposing front and rear walls. The gate also includes an aperture which is aligned with the guide rail apertures when the gate is in the closed position. A guard plate is positioned exteriorly of the guide rails and also includes an aligned aperture. An elongated member of a lock is inserted through the various apertures to lock the members together in the closed position. The head of the lock is retained exteriorly of the guard plate while the distal end of the lock extends beyond the rear wall of the guide rail. A securing member cooperates with an extended end of the elongated lock member to retain the lock in a clamped position between the opposing walls of the guide rail so that the closed gate is captured therebetween. The securing member is under the operative control of a rotatable portion of the lock.
