摘要： A fuel supply apparatus includes: a low-pressure fuel system applying pressure to a fuel in a fuel tank by using a first low-pressure pump and supplying the fuel to port fuel injection valves; a high-pressure fuel system applying pressure to the fuel in the fuel tank by using a second low-pressure pump, applying further pressure to the fuel by using a high-pressure pump driven by an internal combustion engine, and supplying the fuel to in-cylinder fuel injection valves; and an ECU controlling actuation of at least the first low-pressure pump and the second low-pressure pump in accordance with an operation state of the internal combustion engine. As the low-pressure fuel system and the high-pressure fuel system are independent of each other, pulsation generated from the high-pressure pump does not propagate to the port fuel injection valves.

摘要： A low-pressure fuel supply system for applying pressure to a fuel by using a feed pump and supplying the fuel to a manifold fuel injection mechanism, and a high-pressure fuel supply system branched from the low-pressure fuel supply system and for applying pressure to the low-pressure fuel by using a high-pressure pump of a metering delivery type driven in accordance with the engine operation state and supplying the resultant fuel to an in-cylinder fuel injection mechanism are provided. The high-pressure pump supplies all the pressurized fuel to the high-pressure fuel supply system, irrespective of an actuation state of the in-cylinder fuel injection mechanism. Excessive fuel is returned when a relief valve is opened. Thus, pulsation caused by operation of the high-pressure pump is reduced, and the fuel can be supplied in a proper quantity.

摘要： The volume of gas bubbles required in a fuel supply path in order to prevent the fuel pressure from rising again after an electromagnetic valve is closed is estimated. For example, the required volume of gas bubbles can be estimated according to the predicted rise of the fuel temperature in the fuel supply path after the engine is stopped. Since the volume of gas bubbles depends on the opening period of the electromagnetic valve, it is possible to determine the period during which the electromagnetic valve is to be open from the estimated required volume of gas bubbles. When the engine is stopped, the electromagnetic valve is operated based on this valve opening period.

摘要： An engine, having an intake passage, a throttle valve arranged in the intake passage, and a fuel injector arranged in the intake passage for injecting fuel into the intake passage, comprises an air-flow control valve arranged in the intake passage between the fuel injector and the throttle valve. The air-flow control valve is controlled to close during the engine starting operation, and to open after the engine starting operation completes. The air-flow control valve has a valve element having an axis about which the element is rotatable when the valve is opened or closed. The rotational direction of the valve element is selected so that air flowing through the valve is guided by the valve toward the fuel injector when the air-flow control valve is controlled to an intermediate open position which is between the closed position and the full open position.

摘要： A bill retention device includes a relatively long guide belt which has one end thereof secured to a first rotary member and the other end to a second rotary member and is wound on the first rotary member when no bill isretained at all. For accommodating bills, the second rotary member is rotated to wind the guide belt and also wind the bills tightly thereon. In accordance with winding of the second rotary member, the guide belt is unwound from the first rotary member. Thus, the guide belt is finally wound on the second rotary member many times resulting in winding up of a large number of bills. By having the guide belt wound on the first rotary member simultaneously with the reverse rotation of the second rotary member, the retained bills are unwound from the second rotary member one by one whereby the bills can be automatically returned.
